Haha I love the car so much I would have cried if she said nah it’s no good haha. I’ve bigged it up so much I was hoping it was fairly positive. She’s actually always loved the way it looks but never drove it so now glad she approves. We’ve got a lot of other things to drive yet but this will be hard to beat so stay tuned for sure and subscribe if you don’t already, thank you so much for watching and glad you liked. Nice review. This would be really helpful for any bloke trying to convince his wife why he wants a Type R 👍. It's refreshing to see a test drive review done over a longer period of time and in daily driving conditions because that's when people get a good feel for the car.

Really great vid good to get opinions on it in the U.K. Gear box I hear is phenomenal like Charlie said. The size is massive space wise, not sure if it feels huge on the road? In between my 2017 GT86 and GR Supra I may own an Honda Civic Typre R FK8.

Thanks fella I really appreciate hearing someone say that, glad it helped. The gearbox is so slick, it’s unbelievable how much space there is in the boot and in the back with the seats. Back seat space is amazing 👍 It doesn’t feel large on the road and visibility is really really good. You have a lovely selection there and for me the FK8 would be a perfect companion for them both. I’ve got a black FK8. I traded in my old FN2 for one and I’ll say this - it’s a brilliant car. Sod what the haters say about it’s looks. Until you’ve actually seen one in the flesh, it’s unfair to criticise the looks of the car.

Highlander I totally agree imo a bit like a GTR or a McLaren Senna, looks of functional purposeful angles and lines and overall just wide and menacing. Peak Performance Reviews Thanks for the kinds words mate. Yeah the thing that gets me is how the haters say the styling is fake on the FK8. They’re wrong. It’s all functional. This is a car that was designed for the Nurburgring and all of the vortex fins and vents are there for a reason (aerodynamics). I get the feeling that some cynics just won’t accept the fact that Honda have a made a bloody good car that’s not only fast, but is a good ‘all rounder’.

Highlander that’s just it, Jealously is a cruel mistress they say. Unfortunately the better the car is the more hate as well as love it gets, I don’t think the people that own one will ever care as they know just how good it is. As a manufacturer tester as well in honest in my thoughts about car and just how good this car is, it was also developed in a wind tunnel which is amazing and yes all that aero is impressively working and actively working. Have you had any issues with 4th gear locking out when changing down from 5th?

No not at all, I have heard this on ore facelifted cars (very rare) but it’s rumoured that’s why the new ones have a lot changed on the box. They won’t tell you what but it’s beautiful that for sure. I did end up buying a new facelifted version and it’s sublime.

@@PeakPerformanceReviews Thanks for your reply. I had an interesting response from Honda about the issue. As a result, I am now in negotiations with them and my dealer. From what I understood, the facelift car has the same box, but comes with a new short shifter. Maybe I should have waited for the facelift version, but I do love my Brilliant Sporty Blue. Watched loads of reviews before buying this car, but none mentioned this issue. Furthermore, when I bought my FN2 that had a gearbox issue too, but fortunately Honda just need to replaced the third gear synchromesh. Look forward, to seeing the new reviews. John

@@johnroskruge2752 you are very welcome, I only found out about it deep within forum stuff when I really started to search about everything knowing I was going to get one. Yes the same largely with minor changes I’m told (what they are I don’t know other than the obvious) one being the short shifter. One thing I have been told is Honda’s warranty and support is and has been great, albeit a little slow because of Covid. I agree with everything your saying but .... I don’t think the fk8 is as fun or as fast as a stg3 st180 I’m lucky enough to own both a fiesta and a 2019 fk8 , both have their place , the fk8 feels more like a comfy big boat , whereas the fiesta is a small, fast and loud ! The fk8 is so smooth how it drives it makes you not want to drive fast , just sit back and chill

Jamie Sweeting I think for wildness the Fiesta ST has more on edge fun but on a track I think the FK8 would would run away from a stage3/4 which is crazy for a factory car. I hopefully will have the car on a circuit soon too so I’ll be giving full feedback of how it does against something like a Fiesta ST on track. I don’t think there is much that will touch a FK8 on track. I can imagine how good it would be with some mild mods and a little bit more power it would be a rocket ship. Even more insane thing is the facelifted one is going to be better and quicker than ever before. To think you can have a factory spec car that probably can go sub 7 minutes 40 around the nurburgring is insane. Can’t wait to see if they finally take it to the Nurburgring and challenge for that time.

MikeJ H is 100% a marmite car. Weirdly I never used to like it but I actually really like it now. Function over fashion though for sure, knowing it was improve thanks to genuine wind tunnel work it’s insane.
