You don't get it, do you? Alfie did not betray Tommy because he's a bad person, he did it because he WANTED Tommy to be the one to kill him because he has Cancer. He was dying, anyway. If he had asked Tommy to do it outright he would have hesitated, and he DID hesitate, as soon as he realized Alfie did not betray him out of bad blood. Alfie is a war veteran, like Tommy, and he has a respect and understanding of Tommy that no one else does.

Remember, Alfie said Tommy could find him at the pier...he did what he did for business, just like what Tommy said at the end ,"for business or in bad blood" Alfie being honourable knew it was right and had no problem with it. I'd say he felt bad, played by the rules and gave him the info on where to find him.

I also have a new show recommendation. It´s called Killing Eve. I don´t wanna say too much of what it´s about, all I can say is the acting is amazing (Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer as the leads. At this point Thomas has had so many wounds that even though he's not even middle aged yet, he probably lives with A LOT of aches and pains. That often drives people to further alcohol/drug abuse in addition to mental stress and trauma. Alexander the Great always led from the front too, and because of that he was wounded at least half a dozen times, including an arrow in his ankle. The lingering pain worsened his drinking, which almost certainly contributed to him dying at just 32 years old.
