The reason Peanut doesn’t K.O. Punch at 6:34 is actually because of Little Mac’s down tilt hit box, there’s two. One on the arm and one on the shoulder(The Dempsey Roll). The knock back for the shoulder is more directly up, while the fist sends further out. So at higher percent Peanut needs a Dempsey to make K.O. Punch true, which he unfortunately didn’t get

jab => up-b is a semi-combo on a lot of characters at higher percent, since a few characters don't have options quick enough to cover it. In this clip I'm pretty sure peanut just didn't buffer it and reacted instead cause it can be a bit faster for sure. He only hit the 2nd jab so he probably wanted to avoid throwing the game if the jab missed lol

American players REALLY need to stop underrating Little Mac. He's no top tier by any means, but I played Bowser in Melee, and THAT was a true garbage bottom tier character. No win condition, no playstyle that made him threatening, he was just a joke under all circumstances. With Little Mac you do need to get the idea out of your head that this is an air-focused game, otherwise you will get humiliated. But, as Peanut is showing, if you keep the game on Mac's terms and play footsies well Mac can be a serious threat.

IMO (I'm an 0-2er so don't take what I say seriously) in a game as balanced as this one, low tiers aren't low tier because they're "bad" (unless they're Ganondorf) but rather because they have easy and consistent counterplay. They can still absolutely wreck you if you aren't prepared to face them and the opponent is good enough. The fact that Tsumusuto can place 3rd at a Japanese major with Dr Mario, missing out on grands by one game, proves that.

Any little mac with a secondary just actually is the secondary main with the little mac secondary. Since his matchups are so bad, if you mained something else, you're not really a little mac main anymore. I do remember someone saying that if he picked up Fox though he'd become a demon. What do you think the closest higher tier character that behaves like a better little mac would be that would make peanut just horrifying to fight? My mind goes to Greninja, but he has his own issues.

@@minejack7773 Thats easy to say when its a character like Kazuya who has an incredible breadth of tools and moves that allow him to overcome said poor matchups. Little mac on the other hand is the worst in most measurable categories, and has a kit that has no string or true combos save for a couple that literally just boil down to 2 moves *combo complete* and even then those only work at specific %s, after that, its one hit and the only way things "combo" is if the enemy lets you. Most of peanuts combos are reads, callouts or pure reaction. Perfect example, little mac has no moves that cover more than a single tech option on open ground. You just have to GUESS and pray they chose the one you're calling out if you're going for a pursuit. Which I would guess is why peanut favors platforms so much, platforms choke out tech options and make them overlap which allows peanut to stay in range

So I don't think it's that far off And not every character needs to have 24 hit combos that deal 104% in order to be viable. And I suggest you go lab Mac for a bit to learn exactly what does/doesn't combo. You may be surprised. No most his routes don't go beyond 3 moves. But he still has more combo starters/finishers than you give him credit for. And start with falling up air. It's kinda stupid how much you can get away with off of it TLDR: I stand by what I said. Any character can work, given the right player, with the right amount of knowledge
