April 3rd 1994 we would hear the greatest concert that anyone has ever performed on FM radio unedited. Heard quite a few f words that night. No I don’t mean family. Had this on cassette for so many years till a bootleg came out. That bootleg (Dissident) didn’t include songs off the 3rd album (Vitalogy) for I guess was whatever legal reason. That won’t do cause the concert in full is the masterpiece. Glad PJ finally released a remastered cleaned up version of this show. That said what came over 102.7 in NY that Sunday night was the masterpiece. I was 16 years old and to this day I do hold this as the holy grail of live performances. They were on fire and never sounded better. Great set as every song is so good. Also the sweat covered beast in the back…his name is Dave..hi Dave..! Sorry but no one has ever sounded better and done a better set. Few songs missing but can’t expect a band to play everything in a single show. This is it. Dare anyone to listen from the beginning to the end as preformed and challenge me on this. Just can’t even put into words what this show has meant to me throughout my life. This is therapy right here. Sorry if you never heard it. You should head over to PJ’s website and download it if not at least listen in full here on KZbin. Dude they played this in full on FM radio I imagine nationwide in 4/94. Just would never happen today.

The Vs songs were the first time most of us had ever heard them too. That show was so epic. Eddie said check your history books because the date was important, only thing I ever found was Bob Marley's birthday. 🤷🏽

Yeah, I was in Marine Corps boot camp, we were very sequestered from the world, of course, except we did get a break on Sunday mornings with a copy of the San Diego Union Tribune. I didn't know it happened until I graduated on April 15th, when I was walking through the airport in St. Louis and I saw his face across the entire news stand, I knew immediately that he was gone. Weird to see videos like this and think that normal life was going on on the outside. haha

@@rnrpeg1 The best show. You can find bootlegs of it online. The live recording sounded like it was recorded in a studio. The band was 100% that night!

R&R Peg This show was at a point where the band was on top of the world in a small venue like they preferred. Very emotional time for the band, and that emotion can be heard through each song. The set list was amazing. Eddies vocals were more powerful than ever. Just days before Kurt Cobain passed as well. If you listen to the bootleg it is very easy to understand why many consider this to be the greatest show.

I met PJ for the first time November of 1991. I just happened to be wearing my King's X "Faith Hope and Love" t-shirt. Jeff and I talked about our love for them for a long time. Fast forward to 1992 backstage at Lollapalooza. Jeff and I talked at length again...mostly about King's X. He was/is a huge fan. I can honestly have seen each band as many times as each other now.

I remember hearing this concert live on radio, Q104.3 in NY. I bought the bootleg not long afterwards. Such a great show. Opened with Release. I still get goosebumps hearing it. That version of Betterman is my absolute favorite! Amazing how many moments build the character of a person. Much of these moments were built while listening to Pearl Jam. I am forever grateful. This band had an impact on my life.

Fuck yes! The concert that night was broadcast all over the country to any station that wanted to air it. I remember listening live. Absolutely incredible. One of their best. After the performance, Eddie hosted a little variety show where he told stories and played music that most had never heard before. One of the best nights of my life.

Começa com "Release", gosto muito da versão de "Garden" e "State of Love and Trust", que Dave Abbruzzese toca nos pratos, na parada cantada "Myself". Muito bom!!! Curto essa versão.

I believe footage of the actual show exists because I have to as a hardcore fan BUT it could take another while to surface. Remember the fox theater is a very small capacity venue. That means much less bootleggers than other shows. But there's got to be someone affiliated with the crew who shot footage or one or two dedicated fans who have little fragments of video. Right?!
