Pinkpop is one of the longest running annual music festivals in the world with 50 years of history. This very moment where Eddie jumps from that camera rig was voted the greatest moment in all of those 50 years...It just doesn't get any more epic than this...

Pure rock god. I saw Pearl Jam just once at Great Woods in Massachusetts back in either 2003-4ish and it was the best concert I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen a lot of legendary shows by a lot of bands. Eddie is apparently on record of saying it’s one of his favorite shows ever. This entire Pink Pop set was absolutely the best though. I’ve watched this whole concert more times I care to admit though.

You should definitely also check out "Rocking in the free world" that they closed this set off with: kzbin.info/www/bejne/baLOmGhsoL6pbKs In that song he also made a reference to the LA race riots that followed the acquittal of the 4 policemen who beat up Rodney king that happened a couple of weeks before this concert: "There's a 1000 points of light for the colored man There's a kinder gentler policeman's hand"

I have a piece of his T-shirt! It had been torn while he surfed & as I held him before he turned to go back to the stage the piece of shirt hit me in the face & I grabbed it. Eddie was very aware of me being a woman surrounded by men & was very gentle with me & told the guys to take care of me & make sure I didn’t get hurt. They formed a circle around me for the whole show before he dived on us all anyway, but I really appreciated Eddies concern for me. When he got back on stage he was looking for me & they lifted me up & I blew him a kiss & he patted his heart, one of the greatest human beings ever. I was alone, but made lifetime friends there. I’m 55 now, thanks for reacting to such a wonderful memory.

Yeah I read something about that and I forget which magazine it was that they were talking about how he was screaming for other people to grab the end of the crane because if they didn't then he would have plummeted into the crowd with the cameraman and if the people didn't let go at the right moment right when he jumped then they were going to catapult the cameraman but thankfully everything went right in that moment...
@rubentullenaar29344 жыл бұрын
Eddie Vedder met with the camera man in 2018. Since 1992 he felt bad because Eddie thought the camera man was mad at him for jumping of the camera crane. In fact the camera man was yelling to his crew to jump on the other end for balast... funny story which Eddie told the crowd in 2018. I was there both times, unforgettable.
