Through Dave A is an incredible player, I didn’t like his cymbal overload, his style got on my nerves. Loved Jack in the band, having seen him in RHCP for the Uplift tour. Matt changed the complexion of the band, for good or bad. I like his playing, not so much on the old songs. I feel grateful for this but can't help feeling that it's such a shame this wasn't recorded professionally. PJ is one of the greatest bands and this is the only chance to hear their historic first album played live by the original line-up. Krusen really adds so much to the feeling. Every part and passage of his is so carefully thought out and laid back at the same time. Abbruzzeze used to overplay most of his parts and Cameron is better at odd time signatures than keeping a 4/4 groove.

I agree with every single point you mentioned. It's scary how well Krusen sits in the band's mix after all these years. As powerful and creative as DA was, he did tend to get too entertained with his cymbals and play everything at 11. It would be interesting to hear one more record with Krusen.

I mean, they will of course have the bootleg series recording of this, which I think is perfectly fine. Between this multi cam boot and that audio, there's nothing more they really could have done. This was haphazardly put together at the last minute so we should just be thankful this multi cam exists and they already do their bootleg series. They couldn't get a full film crew and professional audio at the last minute so we basically have as good as we could realistically hope for. If they didn't record every show already for the bootleg series I would say yes, this needed to be recorded, but we already know it is in that format.

Back in the days when I started out drumming "Ten" was one of the records I loved. I admired the music so much and the drumming especially, since it fit the songs so perfectly. I don't know how many times I put the CD into my portable music player, plugged my earphones in and tried to sound like Dave on my cheap first drumkit. More than my actual drum teacher he became one of my teachers in those days. I knew he just played on "Ten" and some very early live stuff and Pearl Jam had different drummers after him who are greats in their own right. However, "Ten" and Dave Krusen were always very special to me and I remember thinking as a teenager: Wouldn't it be great if Dave returned and played with Pearl Jam today? What would that sound like? And here we are, almost 20 years later. How friggin cool is that?!

Dave K is great, even Dave A would be greater!

Wow! Hearing these songs played at the correct tempo makes all the difference in the world. Matt rushes the hell out of most these tunes. “Even Flow” is a perfect example of this. On another note: Was Eddie’s voice shot during this show? He’s asking for crowd participation quite a bit, which is common for singers who are having a tough time with their voice.

@@Frasbul yeah, Eddie was sick- we tried not to look when he went to take a seat off to the side ( past Stone's 'side' ) a couple of times -i felt bad for him. He sang great

His voice has been lacking for years. Maybe he doesn't want to push as hard as he used to

Matt Cameron is a great drummer for soundgarden, but not a good fit for PJ it's a strange thing how some chemistry is not there. It is the it factor to drums and drummers that is unscientific.

The vibe is instantly back like a time machine! Being in bands and experiencing it, it's amazing how each member brings their stamp or affects the overall sound. This is great. Thanks for sharing!
