Pearl Marching Snare Unboxing

Since I could never find any videos of a Pearl marching snare unboxing here on youtube I figured i'd make one myself. It's not meant to be a perfect video, as i know youtube will probably kill a lot of the quality. Its just something to show you guys what you are getting! So hope you enjoy and some of your questions are answered, also enjoy the background music made by the Star Ocean :)

@INFINITE REPTILES 🦎🦎🐍🐍🐢🐢🐊🐊 not sure about any specific heads that come with a playing zone, what I always did was grab a piece of electrical tape and but it wherever you want to mark your playing zone and play on that small strip, hope this helps 🙂

Idk why but when I would roll on the edge with my new Evans head It sounds like a tenor drum any advice?

I had the same issue, you won’t get rid of it entirely I don’t think but just keep evenly tightening the head down, that should help some

So the head is what differentiates the sound between the concert sound and a marching sound? I have a concert snare and I’m trying my best to get it to sound like a marching snare

Somewhat yes, what gives the marching snare sound is the depth of the drum itself, followed by the nylon snares. As well as it being a high tension drum to wear you can crank it down enough to achieve that marching snare sound.

The stand itself does not come with drum, you would need to buy one separate

i just bought one of these and forgot about the heads, i’m getting a hybrid grey top head but the bottom heads i want are out of sale, is it good to pair the one they give with the drum for the bottom and use a hybrid grey on the top? or would it sound really bad

Use the bottom head that came with it and use hybrid grey on top, should still sound pretty good once you crank it down :)

Tape off yes, and the bottom I think that head just has a different texture so If that’s what you are talking about yes stays on

It's a reinforcement ring it's supposed to eliminate overtones and add support to the bottom leave it alone

@@daniellukecurtiss Generally mediocre quality from what I’ve heard. That explains why the Blue Devils dropped them and went with standard Ludwigs. Ludwig owns the SB drums now but are way overpriced. I would recommend buying Pearl, Mapex or Yamaha. More entrusted manufacturers

How did you get your snare to sound that way?

Really gotta crank that top head down evenly, until you reach the sound you want, be careful not to go to much and break the head, but also realize these are meant for high tension, so you go go pretty far with them
