Located in the Eastern Black Sea Region of the Black Sea Region, Rize is one of the leading cities of our country with its emerald green plateaus, lush forests, clean air and flavors that cheer the palate. The total surface area of Rize, which has a coast to the Black Sea, is 3,920 square kilometers and its population is 340 thousand according to 2020 data. In terms of population density, Rize Center is the most populated district with 150 thousand, while Hemşin is the district with the least population with 2,450 people.
In the Ottoman-Russian war, known as the 93 War in history, the Ottomans suffered a heavy defeat. The Russians advanced as far as Yeşilköy in the west and as far as Erzurum in the east. On March 3, 1878, the Treaty of San Stefano was signed with the Russians. This treaty brought very heavy provisions. About 237,000 km2 of land was lost in Rumelia. With the 19th article of this Treaty, Kars, Ardahan and Batumi were left to Russia. Before Rize was left to the Russians with this treaty, it was attached to the Batumi Sanjak. When Batumi got out of hand, Rize became the center of Lazistan Sanjak of Trabzon Province and became the provincial center during the Republican period.
Neighboring with Trabzon in the west, Artvin in the east, Erzurum and Bayburt in the south, Rize is one of the frequent destinations of Black Sea tours. Rize, which is flooded by local and foreign tourists especially in the spring and summer months, increases its tourism potential day by day. Rize, which has the distinction of being the province that receives the most precipitation in Turkey, has a warm weather. When you get tired of the extreme heat in the summer, Rize's highlands welcome those who want to relax with their unique air.
Since it receives abundant rainfall in all seasons, its lands are covered with dense forests. You can see all shades of green together in Rize, which is close to 48% of heather and forest areas. Chestnut, beech, alder, laurel, plane tree, ash and hornbeam are among the trees in Rize. As the altitude increases, spruce, fir and larch trees show themselves. Owning 25% of Turkey's forests, Rize is almost a reservoir of oxygen.
Due to the high annual precipitation, high humidity and low number of sunny days in Rize, almost 90 percent of the agricultural lands are tea fields. Tea cultivation is the most important source of income in Rize, which meets Turkey's tea needs on its own. In addition to black, green and white tea, organic tea cultivation has also been started in recent years. The tea grown in Rize is exported to more than 100 countries, contributing to the national economy to a great extent. After tea, the most grown product in Rize is hazelnut. In Rize, where significant progress has been made in kiwi cultivation in recent years, corn, beans and potatoes are also grown. Rize soils are not suitable for the use of agricultural tools as they are very rough. Pears, apples, tangerines are the most grown fruits.
Fisheries and forest products also contribute a lot to Rize's economy. About 70% of the population of Rize is engaged in agriculture. Although animal husbandry is done in the plateaus and plateaus, beekeeping is quite developed. Especially the Anzer honey of İkizdere is famous and very valuable. Fishing is one of the main livelihoods on the coast of Rize. Anchovy, mullet, bonito, horse mackerel, haddock, bluefish, swallow are fish that are abundant. Rize ranks fourth in fish production after Ordu, Trabzon and Istanbul. Industry in Rize is based on tea producing factories. Timber, foundry and flour mills are also in the majority.
With its untouched nature, beautiful plateaus and historical structures, Rize is the pearl of the Eastern Black Sea Region. Especially from the spring and summer months, the Rize plateaus are flooded by nature lovers. Ayder Plateau, Ovit Plateau, Pokut Plateau, Anzer Plateau, Gito Plateau, Elevit Plateau come to the fore among the Rize plateaus that contain all shades of green. You can witness unforgettable entertainments in the highlands with the festivals held at different times of the year, store plenty of oxygen in your body and capture wonderful photo frames. The Rize plateaus, which are covered with snow not only in spring and summer but also in winter, are worth seeing.
Rize is also very suitable for nature sports. You can paddle against the raging waters of Fırtına Creek, one of the most suitable places for rafting, and experience moments full of adrenaline. If you think this much excitement is not enough for me, you can increase your heart rate even more with the zipline in Ayder Plateau. With the zipline, which is one of the indispensable activities of the summer months, you can see all the beauty of Ayder Plateau from the air. Trekking is one of the most preferred activities of nature lovers in Rize with its tracks of different difficulties.

Çok haklısın ama maalesef telif hakkından dolayı müzik sıkıntılı. Ya müziksiz olacak ya da müziğin sesini daha da kısacağım.
