You're 100% right on! This is a great snare and with a switch out of some puresounds they're even better. I found it to be a great shell and versatile snare very little muffling needed really.

Definitely notice a difference...Of course, the different tuning adds to that difference...Sounds good either way to me...Less high-end overtones after the adjustment...Thanks for sharing and Happy Drumming!!!:)

That snare sounds awesome!!!! Didn't knew that one! I have an Ultracast and never got it to sound that good! Any tips? Love the crack and ring sound!

Just picked up one of these babies! Love it. Got it for a buck and a quarter used in mint condition. I don't think I will ever play another snare drum. This baby KILLS. (BTW, love yer sound) \0/
