When George gives you double bass advice you take it.

It's good advice but you should learn everything lead right and lead left.

2:24 the face he makes and breath that he takes in...I FELT THAT IN MY SOUL. Got over 10 years of double bass experience and that shit still happens from time to time.

double-bass drumming in a nutshell. I definitely recommend some leading with the left too though - doesn't have to be double bass, just play 5 minnutes simple rock beats leading with your left foot and then go back to normal right foot lead double-bass - cleans it up a treat!

I will never stop watching George Kollias drumming videos.

Every time you see videos with guys using direct drive it just makes you think your chain pedal isn't good enough and that's why you're no good. Seeing George play on his dual chain kick just reinforces the fact that I'm shit and need to practice more - not spend more money!

Great video! I can't help but lose my balance when I get any kind of speed doing doubles. Anybody got any advice for overcoming this? Feels like I'm gunna fall off my stool
@frankburdodrums89844 жыл бұрын
Try sitting higher or possibly lower. Also a saddle throne helps. It holds your balls for you and is much more comfortable.

Kinda wierd to me..im a right handed..i kick at right foot in single pedal...but when i do double pedal i lead at my left feet..is there anyone like me..or i need to relearn how to play bass drum
@misfit20223 жыл бұрын
For the power those heels are pretty low, interesting. My left does not follow my right but that’s independence.

For me I don’t any double pedal.. I will say tho I think have this style doing doubles Is great for starting..vs two bass drums w/ a single pedal for each foot..🤔

I think this is why faster double bass throws me off. At a certain tempo, 8th notes sound like 16ths, and 16ths come off as 32nds. Same with the hands when put in the context of a blast beat. Can anyone relate or is this just me?
@nickcollins98935 жыл бұрын
Set your metronome to 60 bpm 4/4. Count with it like this: 1, 2, 3, 4. That's 4th notes. Then like this: 1-&-2-&-3-4. 8th notes. 1-e-&-a-2-e-&-a-3-e-&-a-4-e-&-a. 16th notes. It depends on the tempo. Take, for example, Double bass 16th notes at 120 bpm. You can count it like 32nd notes at 60, or 8th notes at 240. I hope it helped you, and excuse for my poor English.

For the blastbeat, I highly suggest you to watch Wanja Groger video "How to start play blastbeats".

The way the music is understood when written and heard doesn't have to be how it's understood when performed. Count/group notes in the best way that works with your brain
