Pearls for your Wedding Day!

Here comes the bride... all dressed in pearls!
The Pearl Girls Repair Department received this necklace for an upcoming wedding. The bride is going to look fabulous in her pearl necklace except the clasp is broken! Should we replace the clasp or reknot the whole strand and replace the clasp?
The thing is... when we knot a necklace, the necklace will actually wear shorter. Over time, a necklaces stretches out. So, reknotting will shorten the necklace. If she tried on her dress with the necklace as is, she is planning on this specific length. So, I fear reknotting weeks before her wedding day.
