I've been repairing these since I was in jr high you first put the negative probe on the negative side and look for continuity on the bottom connection and then put the positive probe and check for continuity on the top connection and resolder as needed.

It`s always worth checking the wires at the back of the input push clamps they can work loose

you can get a recone from parts express look them up online or for there phone number online to order a recone or have repaired

Straight forwards repair..remove the fixing blots and fit replacement basket and check there is no coil rubbing..

hi..on a vintage speaker, will you get the SAME sound when u buy a new basket or will the sound change? I hear the new baskets have a lot more high end etc...is there a way to preserve the tone u had ?
