The thing about keyboard and bass amps is that they are loud and clean and have a good eq. And because of this, they are great for trying pedals.

I have one, I paid 65 dollars for it and others have said it works great for regular electric guitar even tho it is a keyboard amp, And I totally agree, I played my Gretsch 6122, my Fender Strat and Telecaster and also my Gibson Johnny A, and it has plenty of treble and very quiet amp, and it cranks LOUD, like others have said, It sounds much louder than 50 watts, I have a big line 6 amp and a 60s Gibson Mercury tube amp, and I must say I really like this Peavey KB 60 !!

Peavey used pretty efficient speakers, so volume came easy to their stuff. This KB amp found a new home a year or so ago, and I was glad to sell it to someone who would use it. It's being used with misc. acoustic instruments like Ukulele.

Good investment for the price I bought my bout 7 years ago. All you need is to keep the pots clean. Been using it with the keyboard and guitar. Good amp for biginer

Peavey's USA made stuff is very reliable in my experience. I got this sold shortly after I fixed it to a gent who wanted it for a Ukelele! It worked fine for that job.

I found 1 of these cleaning out a abandoned house with a Yamaha 88 key keyboard and a broke M Audio music station. The Yamaha and Amp work great. I LOVE FREE! Will even fix these if anything ever changes. Also have a electric drums set for use with amp.

I didn't realize I said M Audio. I was wrong. It's a Korg M-1 musicstation and I finally got it repaired. Now I got enough equipment for a whole band. Now just need some friends. L O L. Or a few looper pedals so everything can make some noise.

A friend just gave me one yesterday. Didn’t even noticed that it was a keyboard amp at first. It’s working great 👍 I’ll just make it as if it was brand new.

70's through early 90's USA peavey gear seems pretty indestructible.

I fixed the same one. Just pull the knobs off and spray contact cleaner in it and it will work like new.

The USA made Peavey stuff wast pretty tough to kill. That's likely its best selling point.

can you play bass on the amp???

I had a monster Peavey Keyboard amp on wheels, it totally kicked ass on stage, but was bloody heavy. Not sure if it was this model. Anyway, I got tired of lugging it up 2 flights of stairs, so left it in the boot of my car, where, eventually, it was nicked! 😉 Having used a Roland keyboard amp for years since, I'm now looking for a really powerful, but, more importantly, lightweight amp (again) preferably with wheels!

The Peavey solid state gear always seemed invincible to me... Every one I ever pick up needs very little to bring it back to life.
@sparkyguitar00582 жыл бұрын
I doubt it was this amp. Cause this really isn't that heavy. Course I go by the weight of my tube amps and these are heavy. 1 is a Boogie in a road case. Easily 100 lbs. 2nd is a Fender Twin. Just under 100 lbs. Also got a Behringer 300 watt 15 in speaker bass amp that weights about 50-60 lbs. And a Lab Series L5 that I recently got for free. It's got some weight to it but I've only lifted it once so far. Can't really remember the weight as a guess. But after all that this KB 60 is no where near these others. Guess these are why I tend to use my practice amps more. Only 1 of the big amps I have out is the Boogie cause I just leave the lid off it and the cord within reach. The others are stacked up in my amp closet with big P A head and speakers.

I see that this is an old video so I don't know if you learned the make of the reverb tank but it is an OC tank. Some times you them with a "Folded Line" sticker on them. I am actually looking for one of these amps. LOL

Cool. This amp was sold long ago. I think the new owner is mighty happy. Old Peavey is a techs delight... Usually easy to fix.

Hi, I have a KB 60 Peavey amp. So I would like to clean the speakers. But I can't get the front cover open. Could you tell me how do I do that. Is the front panel fixed with screws? Thank you .
@DeadKoby6 жыл бұрын
On mine, it's only affixed with very strong velcro. It also fits pretty snug in the cabinet. It will pry off. This has been the case with all of the 80's Peavey amps with front mounted speakers. (I've done at least four)

@@DeadKoby Thank you for the answer. Today 14/Oct/2019 , after one year I posted the problem , I could open it ever since I bought it from Saudi Arabia in 1995. Pretty long period , isn't it? You were dead right. Its the velcro did all these problem..
@sparkyguitar00582 жыл бұрын
@@nishanthaperera1647 I will admit that it took some effort to get mine off also. I put extra velco on my Boogie but it's cover is wicker and weights a little more. I need to rebuild the speaker cover of my Lab amp cause the cheap fiberboard cracked and doesn't hold at all. Surprisingly on a great amp like a Lab Series. But these Peavey's are built like tanks.

i am learning guitar with rocksmith.....I have this amp....i bought a y splitter....i run the output from my pc into the amp....my guitar into the laptop with rocksmith and it works.........rocksmith has 1000s of tones...i am wondering if this is as good as 100s of pedals and equipment (which i have none of)

Some people are OK with playing through a computer, and some are not. I have a Gibson Darkfire guitar that will play though GuitarRig on my PC. There's lots of tones and sounds in there.... I really don't like being hooked to the computer though. The only time I DO play through the computer is when I'm learning new songs... since it's pure convenience.... or I bring a little 5w amp to the computer area. Some people use computer programs like BiasFX and love it for recording and live. It's all a style thing. Just work on learning the songs, and getting the technique right. Tone is later. Eddie Van Halen would sound like himself whether he was playing through a Marshall or a First Act. Humorously, he learned on a Teisco guitar, the K-mart guitar of its time.

What’s the issue with things being made in Mexico?…
@DeadKoby3 жыл бұрын
There isn't....... however the design of Fender amps made in Mexico are not as reliable as the older designs from the early 80's and before. Not the place it was made, but how they made it.
@sparkyguitar00582 жыл бұрын
The quality of parts used. And for Fender that only goes for amps. The guitars are great IMHO. I don't own any now but have in the past and do recommend them as starters. I do see a lot of reviews stating Mexican made Fenders amps as good but it's hit or miss from people who work on them. Check repair reviews to see if I'm correct in saying that.

Can you get overdrive on a guitar?
@DeadKoby6 жыл бұрын
On this amp, I wouldn't recommend it. Use a pedal for overdrive rather than the amp circuit.
