I’m a male myself and I feel horrible for any other man that feels like they cant truly express their distress and worries because of unfair standards. I’m no longer afraid or ashamed to cry infront of others, I havent been for a while, I hope that there will be a day where other men can feel like this too, at the bed of the day everyone should be able to have a cry, no matter your identity and how tough you are, soft woman can cry, tough woman can cry, soft men can cry and so can tough men. We were all born with tear ducts allowing us to cry and thus everyone can cry. It’s human nature It’s clear even when we were babies So to everyone out there, if someone tells you they and you are not allowed to cry comfort them and find comfort. Yep, definitely just cried listening to this…so many things that I could say about this audio, but I could just as easily be listening to my own thoughts sometimes.. That being said, expressing emotions, especially sadness and fear, is perfectly human and acceptable, regardless of gender. On the other side it’s also important to show empathy to others who need it.

after hearing him say "men don't cry" and "i need to be the perfect boyfriend/partner/etc." i felt a pinch of pain hit me, toxic masculinity really is shxtty in this line of work now, just because on how it's pressured to make boys feel, the subject is just so messy in general (LET THE GUYS CRY, THEY ARE QUITE LITERALLY HUMAN TOO) and you don't need to be the perfect partner for somebody else, they'd love you for who you are regardless perfect or not, and if you still want to strive to be everything for them, that's okay as well as long as you aren't crossing any boundaries, etc.

The crazy thing is that the way he feels is exactly how I feel with every relationship I’ve ever tried to build (platonic or romantic). I usually end up tearing said relationships up before they get the chance to do so even if they say all these nice things. Like I just can’t believe what they say no matter what and I’m suspicious of everyone and I hate reaching out and bothering them or sounding like I’m using them to vent to but I’m also quick to pretend it’s all good and like I’m okay being the bad guy when I don’t mean to be???
