To be honest I think your branding in kind of off. Nothing to complain about content and editing but Dark confidant is a modern staple and greatness at any cost is kind of the antithesis of playing with crappy 10 cents commons. This is my favorite format and I probably would have never clicked a video if it wasn't from content alert on the discord pdh channel.

That's an understandable viewpoint. The idea behind Dark Confidants to be the icon was because we wanted a card that was well-known. We discussed multiple cards as ideas but we really liked the appeal of Dark Confidants due to it's flavor text. Speaking of the flavor text, it can be viewed as price for power, which is true for Modern. Our view is more emphasis on the 'any cost', meaning you can achieve greatness, at quite literally any cost, low and high. The second aspect of the flavor, isn't about the value of the deck, but the competitiveness of it, trying to win no matter what but being translated into gameplay wise. We are playing low budget, but it's meant to be competitive and not casual, meaning best lines. I hope this explains a little bit of why we went to direction we did.

Thank you. If you noticed Cory is sporting a play to win hoodie, which is our inspiration for the format of editing we went with; game play featuring comments throughout and a wrap up at the end explaining lines. We felt that this was the best approach for the channel.

Great stuff! Be careful around Araumi... if that deck gets going it can be quite potent. An encored Kalastria Healer sees all the other tokens and will drain for 3 each, so that's a neat piece of tech there. The old Kamigawa “Zubera” spirits are also good tech for similar reasons. Its also un-intuitive, but apparently Grey Merchant tokens copy the card exactly, and would actually count towards devotion for one another, making that a fantastic encore target. Really digging the “series” aspect you have going here. The singleton-aspect can be hit or miss and it's definitely neat to see more of each deck. Exploring cycles (like the Syr cycle in Eldraine, or the partial cycle of Captains in Dark Ascension with Stromkirk and the like) of future sets seems like it could be a neat exercise for the channel. Uncommon commanders keep popping up in each set now too, so it should be easy to hop on board the new set hype trains. Subbed and keep up the good work!

Absolutely! Araumi has very broken potential with ETB/Death triggers that can snowball. You may seem some of that next video--and that's why we prefer "game series" because the variance is real. We thought it would be a disservice to see a deck not preform optimally just from one game, so more games means we can showcase it's power and consistency. And yes, every set has uncommon cycle that pushes that particular set's Mechanic, and we intend to explore them all!

Thank you! Not currently at this time, however we are interested in doing a "Best Khans Block 3 color cycle", (Same for Alara Block 3 color cycle with Battlemages), and will most definitely have that one in the pod during those games.
