Pediatric Chiropractic Adjustments with Dr. Kyla

KZbin Wednesday! This week we share a video from our #bayvillelocation with #chiropractor Dr. Kyla! #Pediatricchiropracticcare is very different from traditional chiropractic adjustments for adults. The main focus when working with children is to take the body out of a stressed state and into a more relaxed state. We do this by freeing up the #nerves that come from the #spine which promote our "rest and digest" aspect of the #nervoussystem. Typically, the #birthingprocess can be stressful on babies and with all the bumps and falling as they start to grow, pressure accumulates on the nerves. When enough pressure is on the nerves, the body has a hard time communicating with itself and this is when we see ailments like #acidreflux, #colic, #earinfections, etc. Freeing up the nerves allows the body to heal on its own. Please take any baby suffering from colic, reflux, constipation, tilted head or issues with feeding or born via c-section, forceps or vacuum. It's so important because those are the babies that normally need adjustments :)

There's a specific reason for this, actually a handful, but the most important factor affecting the research is that it's currently impossible to deliver a "control" adjustment. Any physical contact cannot be considered a control, and therefore there's nothing to compare the actual treatment to, aside from doing absolutely nothing which is also not a good control. Unfortunately, this spreads a lot of misinformation about Chiropractic care. It's certainly not for everyone, but it's extremely safe and low-cost as a treatment, especially for those who want to avoid drugs and laundry lists of side-effects.

Yeah, no shit. You guys keep comparing our research to medical research. It’s easier to control variables with someone taking a pill. How do you effectively control different variables in anything regarding manual therapy. Talk to parents who bring their babies and actually listen. Stop trying to slap research onto EVERY THING and understand we are treating people, not robots.

Meaning people who had a positive experience return and give glowing feedback, while those who didn't don't come back. Explaining why there is no evidence is not a reason to ignore that there is no evidence.

You can't just dismiss tens of thousands of first-hand accounts of people getting help because "it isn't backed by research". Someone who really believes in science would attempt to find out why instead of dismissing the issue. Why don't you become part of the solution instead of the problem? Especially when the allopathic side is making people worse and the "care" they deliver has gotten way worse in the last decade. There's virtually no preventative medicine (functional medicine) practiced in the US and is all based on a sick-care model rather than healthy lifestyle changes.
