PURE LINE selection means selection from a mixture of pure lines, and since segregating generations are not pure line so we cannot go for pure line selection.... pedigree method first help in making pure lines from segregating generations then you can go for pure line in later generations once material become homozygous

sir, segregation happens even at the time of the F1 generation. For eg: in a monohybrid cross, one tall trait and the dwarf trait were taken, and the gametes were segregated to form F1 progeny. Then why not F1 also a segregating generation?
