if they’re gonna get carried by their bullpen and starters i’m not complaining bc pitching should be more consistent then hitting. Plus when noot and contreras get back they’ll fill in some holes in the lineup and i think overall the offense will be in the better half of the league.

Pedro just became a cult favorite amongst a lot of Cards fans. I likeId him already along with Ivan who yes can not throw but still is a gamer. Pedro has a chance to mirror Yadi and Ivan has a chance to be the reverse. Meaning Pedro is the defensive catcher who needs to improve his swing and probably will if not given up on. Ivan has the bat but needs all the help in the world with base runners. I know you cant teach arm strength but tweaks in how you deal with runners on base are still possible. Two out of three of our catchers might be suited for 1st base at some point. Wilson and Ivan can dh and play first after the goldie era is done.

You’re such an easy listen! Thank you for all the hard work. I am really looking forward to Contreras’ return. Edman will help a ton. I am a bit concerned about Donovan but his defense is solid and his position versatility is crucial as the weather gets hot and you need to give rest to some of the veteran starters

Here are my two takes: Glass half full: Even though the offense isn't what you want it to be, they are finding ways to win. They have the best(?) one of the best(?) records since late May despite the fact that the offense hasn't entirely clicked. When the offense clicks, oh man, this is going to be fun. Glass half empty: Their luck will run out and the lack of offense will catch up with them. Pedro Pages hitting a home run while his Dad is in the crowd on Father's Day. How can you not be romantic about baseball?

This weekend makes the rest of the Cards vs Cubs series the rest of the season that much more exciting. I love doubleheaders and a Saturday doubleheader in STL against the Cubs in July is going to be the event of the summer. Pumped.

He won't be available. I don't know why you think that. The Yankees need him and are contending. And Goldy is not even one fifth as valuable as Nestor. So this one is dead on arrival, not a thing.

Well, i am amazed they took 2/3 from the Cubs with so little offense. Im sure everyone realizes if this keeps up, they may or may not win against weaker teams but will get their butts kicked against better teams.... I am not that excited about Edmans coming back either. He doesn't exactly set the world on fire with his bat, But I'm sure MO is all excited about it.

I can't speak for others, but my idea of trading Goldy is not to grab season end help. It's to insert a better bat at 1B.

“Find that footing and let it fly.” Yep. Still waiting for this bunch to have fun and rake. We keep begging them to work on pitch recognition and drive it wherever it’s pitched. Mikolas has been nails. Good for him. Despite having to sit on the pine, it looks like Crawford has figured it out. I’d let him run with DH. Heck. Put him at 2B. Gorman desperately needs something to shock him into becoming a hitter that drives pitches throughout the field. His weak, lost, flailing at balls well off the plate grows wearisome.

Well, I guess, they've better keep Pages in the line up! And when Contreras finally comes back, maybe let Pages be DH sometimes and be back up to Contreras instead of Herrera who clearly isn't that good of a catcher. I just wish Arenado, Goldschmidt, and Gorman would be more "consistent".. we would be above 500 if they would just hit the damn ball more often!
@bschaeffer124 ай бұрын
Pagés is better behind the plate than he is at the plate, honestly. His offense won't stay this hot. But he's a damn good catcher.
@chilou87084 ай бұрын
“Gonna be a short episode…” 30 minutes later. The stats are overkill. The RISP is a concern. Goldy needs to stay in 2nd! This lineup has zero routine. I don’t understand your argument expecting 6 and 7 runs per game yet the league wants games finished in 3 hours or less. The two aspects contradict each other. The fact that it’s mid June and we’re acting like a WC spot is acceptable shows how much the expectations have fallen. The MLB is down overall, no one is explosive or dominant. Wrigley is still garbage in terms of conditions and we won another series. On to Miami! Let’s roll
@bschaeffer124 ай бұрын
30 minutes is short for B-Schaeff Daily. Historically we're closer to 40 or 50 minutes!
@bschaeffer124 ай бұрын
The league wanting short games and offense can co exist. Many rule changes designed to accommodate both. But pitchers are still very good. Cards struggles has little to do with that though, other teams are scoring. They aren't.
