Great info Doctor. I took my 9month old who was vomiting and dry heving to Urgent Care and they instructed me to take him to ER because the vomit was a yellowish hue, which means it was mostly bile. I didn't try to feed him or hydrate him for nearly 5 hours. When at the ER, they opted for IV treatment right away. The doctor there said oral rehydration would not have worked. Is there a point where oral rehydration doesn't work and IV is the way to go?

This is so informative Doctor. My daughter was going through stomach flu and I was really concerned about her condition. This was a very helpful video, but did you mention resting? Another way for your child to get better is to get plenty of rest. I always found out that resting would always make me feel better within the next day or two.

It's different for different people but I'd continue at least a day after the last episode of vomiting and let the child guide what they want to eat to make sure they're past the worst of it. Hope she's feeling better!

amazing content for poor worried mothers like e… my baby got intestinal infection even when he was 20 days old, blood sells pus cells mucus… n doctors give him lots of antibiotics… i don’t know what to do now he is 5 mnths old n still he gets the same problem every month m so worried should we give antibiotics every month isn’t to much for a baby??? i breastfeed him for 4 months n my homies blaming my milk that its not good for him he is sick bcuz of your bad milk… so i stoped breastfeeding n started lectos free but now after 1/2 months later he got the same problem m so sad n broken that it wasn’t bcuz of milk i really wanted to breastfeed him😢💔 plz help a mother what should i do??? give him again antibiotics???

I’m so sorry you’re not getting any help. I’d seek a second opinion if your pediatrician hasn’t looked into things or given you things to try, or it may be helpful to see a GI specialist especially if symptoms have persisted this long. They can do a thorough work up in what may be causing the vomiting. Best of luck ❤️

OK, like I am 17 years old. A teen or an adolescent. In the medical world, like there is no exact dividing line between 'child' and 'adult' At 17. So, like am I still considered to be a 'child'? Typically individuals 18 and under are treated in the pediatric world (still seen by pediatricians, in childrens' hospitals etc) and sometimes up to age 21 depending on the clinic/hospital. Even though you're still considered a "pediatric" patient you're still a teen and care will be catered to your age. I hope that answers your question!
