PeeG If you see this my Dad when we wouldn't have enough to eat, would get some Ranch Style Beans, cook some ground beef and mix it with the beans, make some white rice, and corn bread. Very affordable. That was our struggle meal.

Videos with y'all two are SO freaking CUTE, I swear! However, I disagree HEAVILY with not having seasoning. I grew up in Struggle City and we still had some salt, pepper, and garlic, at least. No seasoning on food is CRAZY, LOL. That was what you had to have to make the struggle taste good and why we still eat some of these things as comfort foods today, though I can't do kraft mac and cheese, anymore, not after finding Velveeta mac and cheese with the liquid cheese in the box, lol.

Oh, yeah, we had a couple of struggle meals. Ramen with ground beef. Rice with butter and salt. Or just salted butter. White bread with some sugar and cinnamon on it. Pillsbury biscuits with some butter, sugar and cinnamon on it. Hot dogs or italian sausage with Bushes baked beans with hot water cornbread. Grilled cheese with chicken broth soup. Fried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Cereal with that powdered milk in a can, lol. Lemon ice box pie, which was a cheap graham cracker crust (they used to sell them for 99 cent at the dollar store), with some whipped cream, lemon juice, and a can of condensed milk. I STILL make this today, just with better ingredients. Fried bolonga sandwiches with mustard. Literally just cut up hot dogs with some mustard and/or ketchup, depending on what we had. Lots of oatmeal, because it was cheap as heck back in the day.
