Wish I had a vise like that! It adds ribbing w/o human hands! And between the head being secured and the legs being wrapped! AWESOME!

Great video. I’m looking forward to trying it. You missed adding the rib in the video.

Nice tie. Glad to see you using yarn, and pulling off just the threads of it you want to use to make the right body size. I haven't seen that in many years. The doubling of the hackle is very important to get that hackle pointed in the right direction and although you demonstrated it by doing it, you didn't mention that's what you were doing. I'm a little confused though why you would use snowshoe rabbit instead or normal rabbit or other dubbing. If it's actually from the foot of a snowshoe rabbit, that stuff floats forever! Normal rabbit dubbing soaks up and holds onto water. You probably didn't need to us zap-a-gap on that because the whip finish should hold it just fine. I suppose that's not a lot different than adding head cement after making the whip finish though. Although that's a fun tie, cased-caddis are not a preferred food-form for trout, but they will eat them when they can't get anything else. Caddis anchor themselves to the top of the rocks for about a week or two before the pupa emerges. Trout can't really turn rocks over to get at them the rest of the time. When they are feeding on cased caddis you will see then turn sideways and use the corner of their mouth to scrape them off the top of the rocks. So their feeding behavior is very distinctive when feeding on Cassed Caddis. Nonetheless, I do remember fishing one stream where the caddis were on the top of the rocks; no other hatching was going on; and the fish I was catching felt like they had rocks in their gut. That was because they had been eating the cased caddis by scraping them off the top of the rocks. So I'm not saying they don't do that, I'm saying that is way down on the list of preferred foods for the trout because of the rock cases. Probably should have a couple of them tied up in case you run into the situation though, and this is a good one, which is a pretty simple tie.
