Cap got his “punch my way through everything” attitude from her and if anyone is deluded about his fighting styles, he also got it from her. She is Steve’s inspiration and his literal and figurative moral compass every time he has to make a decision. Sad, that she doesn’t get the credit we fans know she deserves. All cause whereas she is a spy and in the background, he’s a soldier and the literal face of the army and is thus in the frontlines.

Technically Steve was like that since the very beginning (literally his introduction is that he tried to punch people who were being disrespectful). It's more that they got along because they were alike more than anything.
