Great explanation of why some people say they are a Christian but they remain very secular and do not grow in their Christian walk. I definitely think it is a choice.

I’ve been touched by God it was definitely real, it changed me to a degree yet I kept getting Luke warm, the world was hard to be in. Slowly I’ve changed much I’m wanting more, Most of my friends and family are atheists are there alike and so to get along with them I would water God down, When I tried to share my experience and being saved in my living room, which is chases night, everyone thought I was crazy and it wasn’t received well. 35 years later I don’t care anymore not letting go of him.

I have struggled. With terrible heartbreak, shame and guilt for awhile. Each day my soul sobs and repents and I feel no forgiveness. I am living in horror and there is no change. This lesson makes me feel even more that I am not saved. Do not k ow why the Lord is not changing me but I feel even new cast off now

This seems like torment. Truly, i don't think this comes from God. Also, thoughts and feelings lie. Gods Word tells you if you are saved or not, not your feelings. Do you believe?

I think how it works is we repent we are horrified at our behavior but God wants us to forgive ourselves too and to realize that we are to accept his forgiveness and his love for us. We need to accept his promises to us We need to build up ourselves by learning to love ourselves and realize he wants us to love ourselves and to accept his blessings and to believe his promises. You can say I am beautifully made just repeat the loving things he says about us. He wants us to thank him and to praise him. He wants to love on us and to be close to us. It can be hard to know how if we never saw it shown to us. Some sing music about the Lord in the morning and if you do not know the songs you can listen to the Christian music while you read the word. We can wake up thank him for the new day and read his Word say in the book of John. Psalms are also nice to read. Anyway God wants us to accept his forgiveness and to not dwell on our faults if we repented. So scripture says to think on lovely things and not to dwell on negative things. If one has been immersed in bad a long time or never saw how we are to be then it can take us a bit to stop wrong thinking so we can trust and love our Father. So we need to be kind to ourselves and not beat ourselves up all the time. Take it easy. Hang in there I know had been hard to overcome but it will happen and God is faithful. We can ask him what we need help with. For me it was to ask for discernment about people and to ask for his protection and to ask for wisdom. And but helps to have a little book that says his promises and read them and also you can write in a journal. But make a plan to read the Bible each day and to ask him to connect with us. Ask him to direct your path and believe he will get close to you when you seriously want to be close to him and for his guidance. He will

How would anyone know, i keep hearing about covenants about conditional and unconditional, Abraham didn't have a book to read. And I've seen some Christians get touched by God in their 40s and finally change them. Same as Paul. It's different now that we have biblical literature to reference.
