I too find PEI to be absolutely useless. I just use the blank metal side with glue stick or the coated glass with hair spray.

I did the glue stick thing like once and it took forever to get it off the plate :(

Personally I have never gone wrong with smooth glass with just a quick wipe down with isopropyl. The only downside I've found is its sometimes hard to get the print off again... so much so I once had to pop to the ER after cutting my hand with a metal spatula. Worst thing about that was the print did not survive 😭

That's the difference between IPA and the incredibly clean™ method. The latter always releases when cold. If it's not perfectly clean though, it just straight up fails though
