The PEJJE JEVVAN started somewhere.in 1960s targetting those who came from distance places for festivals in Temples of GSBs. That was the time when GSBs never took food from shops like Hotels in.most cases even from homes of.other communities. USUAL SAMARADHANA was on the mid day, and the devotees from other places had to spend the night in temple premises.Thise dhi had local relatives, ot was a real problem aldo because inlike olden times they had to spend all their times to.look after the GUESTS. When the night or early.morming food was available, everybody got time to be at the temple to attend all functions. It is no.more a CHARITABL E ANNA DAANA , as meant in English but a MINI SAMA AARADHANA, perhaps less dishes. Now this is practiced in most GSB temples in south India.
