Been playing full lethality Jayce mid for years now, incredible snowball potential. Depending on comp you can even go conqueror with bruiser/adc items and go for a more ranged sustained damage thing. Very flexible pick.

Hey just a bit of insight for anyone looking to get better at Jayce, when your in your hammer form you gain bonus resistances. (scaling off your level) You typically want to use your E, Q combo (in canon form) Then swap to hammer form to all in. Jayce’s hammer form Q is AOE and you can hit champions slightly out of the range by using it on minions, Jayce also has 150 attack range in hammer form and can outspace most melee top laners if played correctly and AA, E (in hammer form) to finish most trade, then typically run them down with canon form if you haven’t swapped already. I believe most of Jayce’s counters are champions that have high mobility and quick burst like Zed and Talon, I usually ban Zed if I am playing Jayce mid (unplayable for Jayce) and ban Kayn (Blue) when I play Jayce in top lane (Mostly due to him because extremely strong in the current meta, also just because you can’t do a lot unless you build deaths dance and are already in melee form when he tries to burst you) The only time I wouldn’t is when your whole team has a draft ready before ban and you have very few squishy champs.

If you E Q in ranged form and then swap before the shockblast hits you actually get 100% gold from First Strike, because you’re melee when the dmg is dealt. I always abuse this in ARAMs.

Jayce is often known as an early game bully, but his damage before he gets points in his Q and a dirk is actually awful. His spike on dirk and into the midgame is insane though and you can basically free trade on people with hammer and have it be positive.

@@EHMSL1226 Its not just his range form though. His hammer form is actually why he's oppressive top. He does Q -> Auto -> E and runs away with phase rush. Its a pretty big chunk of damage, even early on. He then of course, occasionally peppers you with autos while in range. But that combo in hammer form is the primary reason. Its a big chunk of damage that then denies you from easily trading back with him.

--I hate Jayce so much. In general, I hate champions where you're not just playing against the game, you're also playing against the champ you picked. I understand that people who play more motorically intensive champs enjoy executing the complexity of the champ, often having the illusion that this somehow makes them better at the game than playing a simpler champion kit would, but I never bought into the idea that the champ should reward them with numbers or champ interactions that are above and beyond. (Jayce has both) This legit rewards people who were simply lucky enough to be born with good enough hand coordination to execute those champs. That is just silly.
