Instead of picking from 3 starting support items depending on your support type that generate gold in one of two different ways (one of which helps you get a push/cs lead and the other of which doesn’t) you just have one starting support item that can freely use both of the old gold gen methods and levels up the same way as the old support items. And then when you finish leveling it you get to choose a completed support item with an actual cool ability instead of just being a semi-dead slot in your build. TL;DR Buy the support item, level it up, pick a finished support item.
