For once, a good horror game built not solely on jumpscares but tension and realism. Except Pekora ruins it with her funni jokes that everyone laughs at... until theyre not anymore
typical rrabit brain. I hope you enjoy this horror, it was pretty damn scary and suspenseful compared to the other chillas art ones and feinitely worth checking out if you wanna see the endings.

There was a point in the game where Pekora was on her bike and rode past someone walking their dog. The developers must have jacked up the volume of the dog barking by 500% because it scared me so badly I jumped out of my seat lol. Anyway, this game was deeply disturbing but man was it satisfying when Pekora finally saved Moeka.

@KhoiruunisaRF

That is probably just there for jumpscare, but I just wanna share something to think about here. You know, the animal is usually more instinctive than humans. You should notice if there's an animal nearby and behaving oddly like barking or hissing, especially when it's louder than usual or the animals being wary around you while usually not, then it's most likely there's something or someone following you. It's always a good idea to pay attention to their behaviour.

@badwulff

Because they're realistic subjects that are based on genuine fears or actual events that people face in life. I've always believed that, with some exceptions, horror that's most effective tends to be based in things that can affect us personally, as individuals. The Closing Shift, which dealt with a violent stalker, was another game that stood out because of its subject matter. This game in particular, however, references a situation that's unfortunately quite common, where predatory adults, especially those in positions of hierarchical power over others and/or that know them personally, have the possibility to prey on certain vulnerable individuals - for instance, teachers in relation to teens. This is something that not only speaks to lots of people, like both parents and youth, in terms of realistic fear; but it's also something many people have had actual personal experience with.

True. Like "Closing Shift", for example.

the scariest things are those that can actually happen. If in the back of your mind you're thinking, "this could happen to me" it can break that security blanket that is the 4th wall so damn fast. It now feels more like you're watching a documentary of an actual even than playing a game, and just knowing that you could be next is why it can be effective.

Something about the reality of it. Oh, you're not getting dragged out by some weird zombie to have your face eaten, you're being cornered by someone you trusted, taken advantage of, and blamed for your victimhood. When I was 18 I used to work in this hotel in the Front desk, there was a new girl and she asked me if she could be my gf and I was like "ok but why?" We were friends but weren't that close and it come out of nowhere. Turns out she was being sexually stalked by one of the main heads of department on the hotel. I think he was in charge either the head of the employees in charge of cleaning the rooms or the ones from maintenance I don't remember. This hotel was huge and the underground area for employees very big and this guy kept telling her in "jokes" that he better not find her alone or they both could end up having a lot of fun together. This became so bad that when she was on the underground areas doing her job she would feel like someone was following her and some areas that are technically tunnels you would see barely anyone. And her shift ended in the late evening and those tunnels have less employees at those hours. So she wanted me to be her bf because officially it has to be put on stone with HR. This way "everyone" would know she had someone looking for her. The stalking diminished after that but she still didn't feel safe while working so she ended up quitting, which I think it was the best for her.

3:04 What she's saying in this part next it's exactly what you should do when you receive a phone call from someone but notice there's something suspicious happening. Although unfortunately, it's a game and she should follow the story and can't fully act by her own will. 3:28 It's helping much to scream like that in a such moment. People can notice there's something happening with you and you can take this chance to seek help from others. That is if there's any person to help you there in the first place... 10:49 You probably can get along with a stranger. But if they are stalking you for no good, then better to not give them the attention they want and just silently report them to law enforcement ASAP. I think this game is great for its message, and more effective in conveying the meaning if the streamer who plays this is female than male, so you can feel for them for being chased by a "predator". Although I hope Pekora gets more variety of expressions on her avatar to show her emotion better because it's weird to see a girl in trouble but she still looks cheerful every time... No matter what, please be safe everyone! Thanks for the clip 🙏

Honestly, weird to use "funny music" @1:29 (even if I "get it" cause Pekora, bizarrely, was also joking about the friend getting assaulted...), but other clips I've seen of this stream were FAR worse with "funny music" being played at the part @2:49 (when the friend is crying on the phone and it's crystal clear she's being assaulted). I feel like I'm living in an alternate reality from some of y'all (especially the person in Pekora's chat who said "you seem happy" at that moment). Shit's pretty f'd up.
@Nekomikuri
@Nekomikuri Жыл бұрын
I can understand how you would think that, especially if other clips used it in that way, but that was not my intention. The reason "funny music" is playing there is because pekora is acting it out. I put it there more than anything to indicate that pekora is doing it and it's not the actual game itself. At this time, there is absolutely no indication of any actual assault, it's just pekora acting out a stupid scenario, and making fun of her and the fact she would even think that. When pekora and the game get serious, I don't make light of what actually happens. In fact I found this game's content pretty dark and scary, hence why I kept minimal editing for the other parts and even included the suspenseful sections to give this game justice. If other clippers are putting music on the actual part where she's asking for help, then that's not something I agree with or intended. But you also have to understand, the chatters aren't saying you seem happy like it's a good thing, but more like look, you've got what you wanted / acted out. Aren't you happy? Of course they know the answer is no but it's more like retribution for Pekora

@@Nekomikuri Honestly interpreted the chat comments at that part as being more along the lines of: "P-Pekora? Is everything alright with you(r head)? You seem kind of... happy?" How the Twitch Millenials would say - kinda WeirdChamp

The fck? You're being too sensitive, man. Especially for someone who understood zero Japanese and can't even read context. Embarrassing. This is obv a clip of Pekora's reaction and edited around it, not the actual dang story.

its also because while there are heavy topics in the game, they know how to seperate a game from reality. Japan already has actual real problems in terms of SA, they dont need our friend here to act out of pity sitting on their ass in the comments section for them.

Man The story of this game is scary AF for being real. Yet this rabbit jokes about it like it was nothing. I know her job is entertaining us, but bro, that thing is serious, and more in Japan.

@@samuelrodriguez5282 On one hand I generally agree. On the other, that's kind of an edgy attitude to have about this kind of stuff even for a random listener, and here we have the (self-proclaimed) "family-friendly" generally pure "idol" speeding ahead without any breaks and she even seems kind of excited about the situation. It's like that moment when you fuck around doing stupid stuff together with your friends, and suddenly the usually most quiet one does something both out of character for him and also something kind of crossing a line of sort, so the rest of you kinda become dumbfounded, put your hands on his shoulder and go: "D-dude...?"

@@Karsh. pekora has a prisoner outfit. Jokes aside, the scenario was a cliché. Being excited you're right is not wrong. She was worried, horror game plot railroaded situation, she played along. Even replayed to game end the coach to try to save her friend, but realized trauma still there since horror game shows life sucks. At the end of the day, what we saw was an edited clip of a stream translated from Japanese, so we don't know 100% context and shouldn't jump to conclusions
