Coco is basically the reason for Hololive's success and global expansion. She was also a very dependable person, who was both helpful behind the scenes, but also elevated all the other talents she collaborated with. She could even make a mistake or a screw-up of one of the girls, and make it into a meme and something endearing. For example, when Kanata launched her first merch, she had this dumb-looking T-shit with some writing on it. And it obviously didn't sell. Coco saw that, and made it into content, calling the T-shirt a rag and making fun of Kanata for selling it, and basically managed to turn it around into a very successful piece of merchandise. She stayed for very little, pushed Hololive to the moon and defined a generation, and then graduated with a bang.

Hololive really fought hard to keep her, but Coco completely unintentionally stepped on a Geopolitical landmine and earned China's wrath. But unwanted political drama aside, Coco/Kson is doing well these days.

The growth of Hololive put her in a complicated situation, where creative freedom was limited, as Cover was afraid of the monetization waves that hit Hololive after 2020. So she didn't really fit the corpo culture, she wanted creative freedom, and she could get it only by going indie. There was also the financial factor. Coco is American, and inherited the business-oriented mindset. Always money-oriented. She was never happy with all the cuts she had to incur on her revenue. She got over 3 million dollars in SC's, but after the KZbin cut, and Hololive cut, she would have been left with 1.5 millions, and then she had to pay US taxes and JP taxes - by the end of that, she was likely left with less than 500k. She even said once, when she was already in Vshoujo, that she found the 50% merch revenue share unfair, in the conditions where Anycolor for example was giving the talents just 2%. So all those money she was feeling that she was losing, would have also been a deal breaker for staying in Hololive.

Her Asacoco news which used to come out everyday at 6am JST, keeps people updated in the goings on of all the girls, which boosted interest to the whole group. I wonder is Pekora's wealth is comparable to music artists like Suisei and Marine? I know they invest in their MVs like Marine does. But if disregard that I am pretty sure Hololive singers Suisei and Marine earn the most in Hololive. Hololive streamers like Pekora and Miko earn alot of money for sure but I think it is not comparable to singers.

Nah, when it comes to SC's alone Pekora is the biggest earner left, with nearly 3 million dollars in SC's. Her share of that would have been around 1.5 mil before taxes. Pekora and Miko also have the highest number of memberships - having thousands of members. I don't remember about Pekora, but Miko had over 10,000 members last time I checked. That's what? Over 20 000 dollars a month? They also have high viewership, including on their VOD's, and Pekora streams a lot too, so their ad revenue shouldn't be underestimated, they are easily generating 5 figures each year from ads. And then there is merch and sponsorships, of which they sell a lot. So they make crazy amount of money... before taxes.

Any Noel fans know this for a couple of years now. Plus with her none Hololive activities also she seems to make quite good money with her other persona. I think Pekora and Marine are the ones who are even more loaded still. Unfortunately Flare was always the lowest earner of the 3rd Gen for a long while. She's doing a lot better but before it was Aki and Flare the lowest in subscribe counts and hourly watch. They doing great now.
