Pekora found it difficult to progress past the geyser stage and at one point contemplated quitting the race because she keeps getting knocked back from that stage to the ice bridge and even further back lol. Aqua pulled far ahead, reaching the hot coal stage, and with less than an hour left looked like the certain winner. Until 6:40 happened. I really can't undersell the difference in energy between the two in the stream, Pekora was malding hard and looked to ragequit, whilst Aqua looked in control and didn't blunder (until she did, and the first of many). When Pekora said that she recovered mentally at 8:11, she wasn't just trolling.

@@danieldiaz-fg2rv I wouldn't say lucky, Pekora essentially made no progress in the first hour or so, getting knocked as far back as the windmill stage. Her boulder doesn't fall as far because she simply never made much progress. And its pretty hard to fall further than the ice bridge, you have to fuck up twice for that to happen (which she did). She's lucky compared to Aqua though, falling from the hot coal stage all the way back to the ice bridge was catastrophic.

They had some problems too before Holo (don't know what, so I'm not gonna say anything), but that contributes to their rivals-like relationship being so "real". You can tell by how they joke with each other, they always refer to the other with stuff like "You've always been like this". I think it was their Only Up stream where they refer to the past a lot too
