I discovered Diana Ankudinova (about two or three years ago) thanks to a video reaction about Pelageya. In one of the comments of that video someone mentioned there are three top voices in Russian music industry: Pelageya, Polina Gagarina and Diana Ankudinova. I had listened to Polina and Pelageya but I had no idea about who this Diana Ankudinova could be... And when I searched for her songs I clicked on Rechenka first. The rest is history... 😁

Amazingly, that this folk song is being often sung by women, although it is written from a man's (Cossack's) perspective. It's a Russian national song about Famous Russian National Hero - cossak Stephen Razin - the Rebel leader agains Central Zar's Government and agains slavory in Russia of 17 century.
