Pele - the world's greatest soccer player. Wars were suspended on more than one occasion so that he and his teammates could travel safely between countries. The world's greatest, the man who scored the most goals - but how many people have actually seen him play - and in his prime?
This 25-minute film shows the highlights of a match played by Pele' and his Santos FC against Inter-Milan of Italy on Labor Day September 5th, 1966 at Yankee Stadium in New York. The game was a highly anticipated match between the then two pre-eminent world club powerhouses of soccer/football. Santos FC was the "Intercontinental World Club Champion" in 1962 & '63 and Inter Milan was "Intercontinental World Club Champion" in 1964 & '65.
The crowd of over 43,000 spectators was treated to a terrific 5-goal game that showcased both clubs, in addition to Pele, 16 National Team players for both Brazil and Italy.
