The Rock Store on Mulholland, The Best Biker Hangout in Los Angeles California

On a typical Sunday morning when Motorcyclists take their bikes out for a drive on the very famous Snake on Mulhollang Hwy. This is their favorite pit stop, either before or after doing their canyon carving. Some start here and return here, while others keep going till reaching the beach on the other side of the mountain in Malibu, then meet up with other bikers at Neptune's Net Restaurant on the Pacific Coast Hwy.

I met Steve McQueen and his son there a couple of times in the late 70's and early 80's. Used to be hundred's of motorcycles there on the weekends. Beers were sold inside a single at a time.

No Jay Leno, lol? I was up that way a couple of years ago, and totally missed this place. It was a week day, though, so it wouldn't have been open, anyway. Even up at the Snake there was only a couple guys hanging around.

It''s just south of the 101 Fwy between Calabasas, and Agoura Hills CA. in the city of Cornell CA. The best route is to take the 101 to Topanga Canyon, go south, then turn right on Mulholland Hwy, stop at the Rock Store to talk to other bike guys then keep going on Mulholland till you get to Malibu, and have lunch at Neptune's Net. Another huge biker hangout.

Man Garibay Cornell isn't a "city" and the Rock Store isn't "in Los Angeles". Title should read "...near Los Angeles". Good to see it hasn't changed at all since I last rode/hung there in the mid-1980's. After you leave Neptune's Net, find Deer Creek Road off of the Pacific Coast Highway. I think it's north of Neptune's Net and a hell of a nice, curvy ride. Just watch for dirt and have plenty of fuel. Eventually, you'll hook up with Decker Road and then Mulholland and back to The Rock Store. Fuel up on PCH first.

Man Garibay Were you around long enough to remember when the CHP closed access to The Rock Store and most of Mulholland? Damn squidiots on rice rockets were crashing their brains out so much, the CHP along with the County of L.A. just said, "Fuck it! No more motorcycles!" I don't remember how long it lasted but Ed & Vern were about to go out of business! Watching KZbin it looks as though the squidiots haven't (or refuse to) learned a God Damn thing. I can understand a little of when they closed it because Ricegrinding sport bikes were just "invented" and squidiots with limited riding skills were buying them up in force but there's no reason for it today. I think they should put smooth speed bumps along the way. It's the only way to stop the squidiots who fuck it up for serious riders. What's the worst is up at the "snake" or whatever it's called. Some guy in a van parks there and when the squidiots crash, he'll run up and shove a picture of you crashing in your face and ask, "Wanna buy a picture of you crashing, kid?" Sad...

Yamaha SR650 I can totally understand why they would shut down that piece of road. Too many novice riders for that road.
