Super limpets, Jaime! I loved the barnacle limpet with all the color on the under-side- so cool! And the design on the top snail made me think of star snails (from south-east Florida). Fantastic video Jaime! Thanks🎉❤

My favorite find was the Limpet shell that was covered with barnacles on the top. The under side was so pretty. I have never been to Scotland, so thank you for the beach trip.

at 9:34 that is Neptunea antiqua, the other one Buccinum undatum. Both are from the family Buccinidae. Genus Neptunea is named after the Roman god Neptunus, lord of the oceans. In ancient Greece his name was Poseidon. Neptunea antiqua is known for its many shell defects, like protoconch missing, heavy scarring (repaired breaks), chipped lip. At 12:10 that is a Common Cockle. Cerastoderma edule, belonging to the family Cardiidae, the heart shells. The giant clams also belong to that family, so they are cousins...12:22 another cousin: Acanthocardia echinata as far as I can tell, same family.

How incredible was that?!! Hope the octopus was ok. June just flew by so fast. Today's August 2nd, can you believe it? I can't!! Scotland sure looks cold even in the summer, hey? My dad was born in Glasgow in 1930, not a great time to be born. Even though he loved the Old Country, he loved the summers in Canada better. He loved the heat of Arizona when he was older. Great shelling!!😊🐬

My shelling pal, Charlie here. Our assistant is at basketball camp, so we enjoyed watching the shores of Scotland and the baby octopus. However, we enjoyed the sea glass in England. We have given up tumbling glass, and moved to rocks. Charlie wants to adopt the Octopus, referred him to his parents. Your smile is delightful.

I wonder if the spikes on those clam shells help prevent them from being drilled into and slurped up by snails, etc.❤TN Nana

Hi everyone. It was absolutely amazing meeting and shelling with you all. It's such a pity that we had typical Scottish weather ( rain ) I still can't believe we met. It is a beach day that is extremely special to AJ and I. Much love to you all from AJ, Bertie, the Scottish beach dog, and I ❤ 🏴

This is amazing. Long time watcher 1st time commenter. I have been shell hunting all of my life, and am about to go to Scotland. What beach is this? Or vicinity?
@amandamiller7513 Жыл бұрын
@skyemontgomery7971 Hi, the beach is Silver Knowes on the east coast of Edinburgh. Have a fabulous time in Scotland, but bring waterproof clothing and footwear as our weather is very wet at the moment. If you need any other info, I'd be happy to help
