Pelican The Cacth 110 HDII plus a Magic Trick

Hello Everybody, welcome to another video on my channel. Many of you have asked about my kayak and here is a video of it. Personally the drive system sucks in choppy waters, and just because of that, I would not reccomend anybody buying this kayak unless Pelican steps up its game on improving the drive system. Save your money and get you a paddle kayak which you can enjoy better for $1000 less.

You should get an Assault hand paddle. I have this kayak and a Hobie Pro Angler, and I use the hand paddle for both, even my Hobie that has reverse.

I had to look it up, didn't know they made that. But wouldn't it be too uncomfortable due to the short handle, and how high you sit above the yak? Especially with the hobie since those have a higher seat?

@@AlvarosOutdoorAdventures no it’s not uncomfortable at all. I use it for quick positioning changes and to push myself off the bank or out of shallow water. It actually works surprisingly well, and I just keep it right under the seat.

why don't other videos of the same kayak show the same thing? All are great, but this is the first time I see that steering is an issue. and glad you pointed this out.

Maybe they don't have choppy waters like we do in Texas lakes.

I have this same one and like it pretty good. I rarely use the drive though, Id rather paddle to be honest and use this one in smaller locations. I recently bought the Ascend 128X and love that Kayak. Lot bigger and more stable with plenty of room! Great review my friend.

Im 250 with my gear maybe 270-275 would i be ok in this as far as weight capacity

The weight capacity is 400 so you should be fine.

great information. Unfortunately that is something that happens when purchasing a kayak or boat. You really don't find all of the flaws until afterwards.

What’s the camera mount you using

They are both something I came up with. The front is from shooting sticks which I adapted to a Scotty mount. The rear is a selfie stick which at the bottom I put a screw that goes into the tracts.

@@CamTheManFishinn what I have works great. You can take a look at my videos and see they are not moving around. The front one I put it so I can move it up or down or sideways. I tried to stay away from PVC, so the single leg shooting stick from Walmart did the job.

Is it easier if you just use a paddle? Although I think that would defeat the purpose of a peddle drive.

It defeats the purpose, but you do have to use it to launch since you need 2 feet clearance for the peddle.
