Tried the knotty wood almond pellets, and they were just ok. I personally think Lumberjack and Bear Mountain have better smoke flavor than they do. It's funny you mention Lumberjack Oak having a heavy smoke flavor since Lumberjack markets them as their most mild pellet. I tried the oak and agree that they are more mild than their hickory, pecan, or most of their blends.

Great job on the cook. Anyone who says pellet's don't smoke well and don't leave a smoke ring aren't using Knotty Wood BBQ Pellets! Almond is a VERY mild wood smoke like Pecan. Try the Plum and mix it 50/50 with the Almond and you'll hit the money spot. Or go 100% plum if you really want an ever more pronounced smoke.
