Great review. Love the simple design and the size of the footprint of Peloton’s treadmill. Does not look bulky. One thing to add about the tread being lower to the floor: For home users, the lower to ground/floor also means you are less likely to be standing near the ceiling of your room for rooms without high ceilings. Something to consider for taller runners. Definitely a bit pricey and paying a premium for the brandname. However, Peloton’s price includes delivery and assembly. Keep that in mind. I really liked that I did not have to assemble it (for ensuring safety use).

We've had the Peloton tread for a few weeks now and love it. No major complaints at the moment. Initial quality seems good. It feels very solid to run on and I think will hold up well. One negative I do have is there is no connectivity with my Apple watch / Apple Health Kit. It would be nice to see HR on screen while using. The screen is the same as the Bike+, which does support the Apple watch. I'm unsure why they didn't build that functionality into the new Tread. I'm hopeful this will be a future update.

I appreciate your reviews they really help! I took the plunge and purchased the Tread, after using it for 3 weeks, I didn’t like not being able to see my HR on screen, the incline is only 12.5%, and I can’t load any other apps. I’ve decided to keep shopping the market for something that has more of what I’m looking for. The price of this tread is high, so those features should be standard imo.

While the Peloton Tread belt only measures one half.inch shorter than our current commercial treadmill, the peloton always looks so short, like the runner will fall off the back at any moment. In part it seems like the belt has a good foot or so of wasted area due to the bar placement. Did you feel like it was shorter? Or a concern? We love the bike.
@TreadmillReviewGuru2 жыл бұрын
@@dionrobison8516 That's a good question. Many treadmills have a large motor hood at the front of the deck that covers the motor. This motor hood pushes the deck back, so it extends farther and elongates the footprint. Since the Tread doesn't fold up, the motor is under the center of the deck rather than at the top. This eliminates the need for a motor hood. As a result, the belt extends all the way up to the top - under the console. This makes it look shorter, even though the belt length is only a 1/2 inch different. In reality, eliminating the motor hood opens up more foot space for a full leg extension. The placement of the console doesn't negatively impact your stride or where you can stand.

I think this is absolutely the perfect treadmill for me, I just bought the new Tread and the Bike+ for my wife and the multiple usage of subscription across all devices is absolutely a major selling point for me. I was debating for a long time between this tread and the X22i from Nordic, but I think ultimately the 40inch incline was a pipe dream for me and not at all going to be used as much as I had thought. I guess I'm all team Peloton now...

Ha loved this- I too was super enticed with the 40" incline of the NT treadmill. I had a gut check a few months ago and was like will I actually use it all that often? Went with the Peloton and SO glad I did. It's the perfect size and all the features are so well thought out.
@rgh6222 жыл бұрын
I own the NordicTrack incline trainer with the 40-degree incline feature. For those wondering the incline is legit! at 40 degrees you are working at a level that will make your head spin and your lungs and heart nearly explode. Having said that, It gets used the first time you use the treadmill, and every time a new friend comes over to the house and you show off that feature, and never ever during a real workout. What I really like about it though is the decline feature. I can lower it to negative six (-6) degrees and get a really good downhill run workout. Now having said all that, I am still very interested in the Peleton tread but it's kind of hard to justify buying it with a perfectly good working treadmill. Happy running everyone!

I used to love peloton and own a peloton+. But after it was broken within quarantine, I have scheduled three times for it to be fixed. They swapped three parts of the device and was unable to fix it even though the onsite maintenance guy told the customer service his evaluation which was correct. Guess what, his evaluation was never taken seriously and ended up being ignored. In the end, I was forced to return it as they refused to replace the last part of the device because of their policy….Fine. After that I had to schedule pick up for two times and peloton was still unable to send the right amount of crew even the notes clearly said three men needed for peloton+. Nobody called back and find a resolution for me and I have to reach out again to schedule a third time. I love peloton before and was ready to use the refund to purchase a new one. But now I am extremely disappointed and will never use this company's product again.

Hello love your videos ,very informative and thorough. I am not sure which treadmill to get. I am 5'6" 170 lbs I like running, sprint, and HIIT. I am familiar with Peloton workouts so I really wanted to get a Peloton treadmill. However, my husband got very excited about us getting a new treadmill he is 6' and about 300lbs and he isn't much of a runner but he is very excited about starting to run ,also he is not familiar with the Peloton app We had seen your reviews about the Sole F80 and we are very inclined about that treadmill. I would appreciate your opinion, which treadmill would you get between the 2 treads? I don't mind not having the built-in app . Thanks again! Great content you have ,great channel 👏
@TreadmillReviewGuru3 жыл бұрын
If it's a choice between the F80 and the Peloton Tread and the app isn't an issue then we 100% would recommend the F80. It's a solid, sturdy treadmill that you can rely and depend on. The Peloton Tread is good, and the screen is nice, but you can save around $1000 going with the F80 for a treadmill that we know is going to last you a long time. Plus, you aren't locked into a subscription so you can use any app or watch any type of content you watch on your tv or tablet. Let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Question, great review by the way, can I use this treadmill as a stand-alone treadmill without taking a class or having a subscription? What I'm looking for is a treadmill that will still work for me even if the Peloton name and company go belly-up.
@TreadmillReviewGuru2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! It does work without the subscription or wifi when you use the adjustment knobs on the handles. It will just show your speed and incline levels on the screen. The functionality of the screen is extremely limiting without the subscription, and kind of not worth it in my opinion. I would get the treadmill if you want to use the Peloton subscription, be able to see your workout metrics, and compete on the leaderboard during classes. If seeing those metrics and the leaderboard isn't important to you, I would look into getting a different treadmill. For instance, treadmills from Sole and Horizon are of great quality, don't require subscriptions, and you still get onboard workouts included. With a treadmill like one of these, you could just use the Peloton app on your device and take classes that way. This way, in case something happens with Peloton you'll still have a fully functional treadmill.

Which treadmill would you recommend for someone who gets shin splints often? Does this peloton one have enough shock absorption? The only treadmill I’ve found I don’t get shin splits on is the free motion treadmills at orangetheory, but looking for a home option as well.
@TreadmillReviewGuru2 жыл бұрын
The Peloton doesn't have the best shock absorption or cushioning on the market. If the best you've found is the FreeMotion treadmills at Orange Theory then we would recommend you check out the NordicTrack X22i. The same company, iFit, that owns and manufactures FreeMotion also owns and manufactures NordicTrack. The X22i has the most cushioning on any treadmill we have tested and has a great range of incline/decline. It's also very similar to the treadmill you've used at Orange Theory. We haven't noticed that on the Peloton. The belt is securely tucked under the side rails, so it would be hard to slip on it.

What are you thoughts on the peloton versus the Nordic 2450 ? Does the Nordic have good music options too ?
@TreadmillReviewGuru2 жыл бұрын
I like the cushioning on the 2450 over the Peloton because it is a bit softer to run on, and iFit's outdoor classes are unmatched in my opinion. The music on iFit is from preselected playlists and you can pick from different types of genres. You can also play your own music from your device through the speakers, too. I like Peloton for their studio classes and instructors. Plus, their music is integrated into the classes so you experience it how the instructor intended. We haven't tested the new 2022 model of the 2450 yet, but I prefer the NordicTrack 2450 treadmill and the variety of classes on iFit over the Peloton Tread and Peloton's classes.

Hi there! While you were both running I noticed that the deck did not look very flexible. How would you compare the feel of this deck to the FreeMotion tread’s flex deck? I’m so used to running at orange theory and I’m worried that the peloton tread is going to feel super uncomfortable. Thank you!
@TreadmillReviewGuru2 жыл бұрын
The Peloton Tread is not the most cushioned treadmill. It provides a wide foot strike zone and solid toe off, but it's not as generous with impact cushioning as other models. If you get the chance, maybe try one at a Peloton showroom? It's a great treadmill, but lacks a bit in the cushioning department.

As you can see in the video, we use the spongy gym flooring underneath most of our equipment - however, this is laid over the top of a standard tile floor. A hard floor will create more vibration and more noise. We recommend a pad or mat if possible. Carpet works, but the weight of the treadmill may leave imprints in your carpet.

Of course - a peloton is a large group or line of cyclists. They ride in a line to access the slipstream behind each other which reduces wind resistance. In a group setting, cyclists take turns leading so not one of them becomes excessively fatigued. In a race, they vie for the top spot so they don't get stuck behind the pack.

No, this is a new model. The recalled Tread+ had a slat belt and this is a traditional belt. It's an entirely different treadmill - not just a redesign. Peloton isn't selling the recalled Tread+ anymore.

I've just had 2 knees replaced, would this be a good treadmill for me? I purchased the Peloton bike+ but it's a bit difficult for me to use with my new knees. I love the trainers and motivation of Peloton instructors butI'm not a runner and want the best equipment for recovery. I enjoy speed walking and hope to be able to get back to speed walking after I'm healed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Again must say I love your reviews.

Thanks! Yes, you could use the Tread for walking. Most of the workouts incorporate running or jogging, but you can always modify based on your level of conditioning.

There is a whole section of just walking workouts that are great. Hiking, power walk and walk/run are in that section also.

NOTE: This product works exactly as described. kzbin.infoUgkxguEIMc_Qwab-3QMTpF6jaRL80hiOOsIN It originally earned a four-star review due to a minor defect (see below). However, the manufacturer's customer service rep (Lita) went above and beyond the call of duty and deserves five stars now. I wish I could give even more!I purchased this item which arrived quickly. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. There was only one problem: One bolt did not screw into the hole properly. I called the company. Their customer service rep (Lita) was terrific! She took all my information and submitted a request to replace the defective part. I'm hoping to finish assembly and start using this treadmill soon. (Fingers crossed...)FOLLOW UP: Lita called back to inform me that the company will send a replacement part AND a technician(canyoutalk) to install it properly. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Thank you!!
