@MilesPelletStoves Thank you. I'm hoping cleaning the exhaust fan blades and chamber that my short lazy flame will get better. It's not a high lazy flame but looks normal 4 to 6 inch flames, but a little lazy. Cleaning the exhaust fan appears to have helped. Trim is at minus one and I don't believe it needs moved. Any suggestions?

Great videos - very informative! Finicky - Good description of this stove. I've had this as my main heat source for 3 years. When it runs, it's great. Adequately heats my 2200 sq/ft open concept colonial here in New England. I had issues from the start with a failed control board and no replacement parts available for 2 months. **PELPRO Customer service is absolutely terrible and unhelpful. This video is 110% better and more helpful than Pelpro. Good job guys! After finally receiving the new control board, the stove is never consistent starting up and running. Turn the temp control down and it sometimes just shuts down, lots of issues feeding pellets after the initial startup. Keeping it cleaned definitely helps but still has occasional issues staying running or starting up. About 10-20% of the time it doesn't feed pellets after initial fire - sometimes the initial feed of pellets is not enough to keep the fire going long enough to keep the start up process going, which you gotta open the door and throw some extra pellets in the burn pot. It's a $1300 stove so you definitely get what you pay for. No ash pan so the burn pot has to be emptied daily. This requires shutting down the stove until it's cool enough to open it and dump the ash pan. Then hope it will start up without issues before the house gets too cold. It's a crap shoot with this stove. A good monthly cleaning as instructed in this video is highly recommended. Take all 3 of those metal plates out and clean all surfaces including the walls and ceiling inside. It's a lot of work relative to most other decent pellet stoves. I guess if you do not mind all the work and a stove that is only about 75% reliable, this may be an alternative. I wish I spent 2-3x as much on a better stove and not dealt with all of this. It does throw a ton of heat when operating properly.

Absolutely my experience. Thought it was the best stove ever till vacuum switch, then hopper switch, then symptoms like you have. Lots of jumpers and multiple attempts at a good start. Then cross fingers and keep the space heaters handy for 3am failure due to overloading or running out of pellets. My pp60 works great. My kozi lasted 20 years and only got moved to shop for an upgraded stove. Pp60 moved to shop because I wanted the bigger hopper of the pp130. Edit: I'm moving pp60 back in. Pp130 is going to be a project of diagnosis learning and hopefully figured out someday

I'm in the same boat- just bought it 3 months ago. It is so nice when it works- I clean it everyday- hope its going to work. Tonight no cigar- but I haven't had any red lights- just shuts down. I will clean that box!

@@charltoncoins It got cold so I gave up and bought a Grand Teton teewinot from tractor supply, 300 off total 1 grand plus tax out the door. It's a whole new level than the pp130.

I bought a pp130 three years ago and have been fighting it since new. When I piped it out I used a coupler to a clean out tee to a two foot pipe then out the wall with a two foot pipe then a turn down. Never had a great fire from beginning. When we first got it got installed put pellets in it and turned it on when t in to eat came back out and it wasn’t burning. So restarted it again but noticed the auger wasn’t working,found a sheet metal screw caught under the auger. So took it all apart got it removed and put back together but never worked like our old Whitfield stove. Talking with the manufacturer they sent me a new auger and motor assembly. Installed it but never had great flame. So talked with company again and they said I needed to run pipe up outside of garage wall four feet and that would help. It helped a lot But I still have to clean burn pot every 16-24 hours. It’s definitely not a Whitfield stove.

Hey great video, very informative. I have a question a little off topic. I have the Pelpro PP130 and when the auger is feeding it makes a horrible noise, a screeching sound. I have completely emptied the hopper and removed the inside auger cover and vacuumed out all the pellets and any dust build up. I attempeted to turn the auger by hand on the inside and also tried to turn it by grabbing the motor and turning it and it takes everyting i have to turn it just a 1/8-1/4 turn. I should be able to turn the auger by hand correct? It seems to be binding or something. The noise seems to be coming from the lower end. My next step is to pull the auger to see if i can see anything. Do you have any ideas/suggestions prior to me pulling the motor and auger out? Thanks so much for any assist you could provide. God Bless.

hey guys thanks for the video. very informative on the little ins and outs. i inherited a house with this exact model and ive always had a furnace so this is new to me. tonight i was sitting here with my wife and all of a sudden the stove shut down and would not drop pellets. i read the manual and eventually got to the point where i bypassed the hopper switch to troubleshoot the failure. the switch contacts looked burnt so im ordering a new one tomorrow. i was wondering though, every once in a while it will smell like the smoke is dumping inside the house. is there any advice you can give me for that issue or is that common? also, the fuel to air ratio. what should i run that at? it’s set to +2 at the moment. thanks again. take care! subscribed with alerts on!

Smoke in house? Check all vent pipe. Try setting the blue auger knob to 12 o clock position for starters. Have a nice day. Brett and Briggs

Hello Burn pot clean and all air holes clear. All vent pipe cleaned. Inside left panel remove and make sure the channel is brushed and vacuumed out. Last...possibly a weak exhaust fan. Based on our experience, most likely its an air flow issue. Please Subscribe Thank You Brett and Briggs

So the exhaust temp probe is different than the (I believe it’s called) the ambient room temp probe? Not sure if mine is different but that probe I have hanging on the wall by the stove. I wasn’t aware that I may also have a probe in the exhaust, if I do, I will make sure to clean that also. Great video thank you!

Please help, I cant get a straight answer. My original stove was an Avalon Astoria 2003.it is exhausted vented horizontally through the wall but that height is 17 5/8 " from floor and this stove is 9 or 9.5. Is there a solution without making new hole/area in wall? EvL will be at max or ajust above 15 since I will need a cleanout T, a 90 , a 45 and about 2 to 3 feet of horizontal pipe. Is there a solution? Thank you

Go by the book. There are drawings available for venting.

Thanks for the video. I apologize if my terminology is wrong because I know little about this stuff BUT…I have an issue with reattaching the stove to the wall pipe/thimble…I see the wall piece has an inner pipe with a surrounding outer pipe that the stove exhaust pipe is supposed to fit into. I can’t get the stove to fit into this. I think parts might have some bending on the wall device. What are my options for fixing this? (If this makes any sense at all). Thank you!
@MilesPelletStoves4 ай бұрын
It's difficult to help as there are different vent applications. Yes, you should have an inner lining with steel exterior on to code 3 or 4" pipe.
