Great voice and tone! Thanks for sharing and telling us the chain you’re using. What model of metric halo converters do you use? Do you record at higher than 48khz Sample rate? Do you know what opamp is in your capi? Thanks for getting technical. I’m a gear nut, tube-amp designer/builder in the process of building an analog centered home studio. I’ve never been the best in the digital world and never quite satisfied with how my mixes sound once I send them out of my tape machine, through my apogee ensemble into my daw:/ When I hear someone like you whose vocal track does it for me sonically I try to do my best detective work to try to learn. Thanks for the tech talk🤙🏽

Hi Antonio. Let me answer all your questions. Metric Halo LIO-8 recorded (probably) at 96k, but I can't remember. Certainly nothing lower than 48k. The opamps in the CAPI VP26 were Scott Liebers' SL-1731 "Melcor" style. Best of luck with your analog-digital hybrid setup.

On my AKG headphones, the P-49 sounded just a wee bit "softer" perhaps with some bass rolled off. Not sure of course because to me the difference (if any) is very subtle. Wonderful singing as always. :)

Dan: I've been watching your vids for a while and really enjoye your audo tests. But you are just an amazing tenor and musician first and foremost. Discerning by the way you dissect audio comparisons it makes me wonder: Are you by any chance a licensed Amateur Radio Operator (ham)? I ask because your approach to analyzing audio is very similar to some of the more knowledgeable hams I know. I've been a ham since I was 15 years old (am 65 now). Anyway great job and thanks for the work you do.

Hi Robert. Thanks for the kind words. I have never done anything with ham radio, but I do enjoy building vacuum tube amps, mic preamps, compressors, EQs, and stuff like that.
