Pelvi-Ureteric Junction Obstruction-PUJ Obstruction-Laparoscopic Surgery and Laser Surgery options

PUJ obstruction commonly presents in children at the time of birth or when they are young. Very rarely it may also be diagnosed in adulthood when it presents as pain in the region of the kidney or recurrent urinary infections or sometimes detected incidentally during the ultrasound for any other cause. In this video we are going to discuss the various presentations and the reason behind this disease and also the treatment of this condition by laparoscopic pyeloplasty or laser endopyelotomy.

Sir writing from Nigeria. I used to pass blood in my urine. Now my x-ray says I have puj and grade 2 hydronephrosis. The Nigeria hospital put me on hold since 5th December 2022. Once in a while I still see blood in my urine. Hope it won't get bad before the Nigeria hospital even call me. Thank you

Ham stricture ko remove kr dyn gy . Takay ye kidney ko affect na kray . Lakin jab ivp ki report ai to unho ny kha k both kidneys are working well . Stricture bilkul partial ya mild sa hy . Ap ko operation ki need nhi hy . Or kuch pain killers dy di . Kha k jab pain ho to ye le lena . But I'm worried k mild stricture ko aisay kesay chor saktay hn . Ye agay ja k masla nhi kray ga ? Mai boht confuse hon pls mujhy guide kryn . What should i do ? Mai in doctor ki batai hui medicine hi ly lon ya khin or check krwao. Sir i am 22 years old, i just got an xray KUB scan where it was found that i have PUJ obstruction in left kidney and moderate hydronephrosis... But however in my DTPA scan, it also says that i have PUJ Obs and Hydronephrosis but otherwise properly functioning kidney with proper draining both sides... Sir i also have 2 kidney stones of 2.3 and 2.5 mm but sir i have no symptoms yet, no backside pain or anything... So sir what should i do? How long should i wait to get operated i am confused please guide me i am asymptomatic case....

Is there any other diagnostic instrument other than dtpa for puj obstruction? My 4 yr son had pyeloplasty in 2020 . Recent dtpa shows moderate hydronephrosys Relative function 51%(left) 49%(rt) Gfr - 45 / 43 ml/min T1/2- 13.25/ 6.75 So is it still obstructed? Is it requires repeat pyeloplasty?
