That's pretty cool. Just within the last five years I have learned about the tertons. Otherwise the first time I heard of terma is when I was very young, I heard from my mom where she would tell me stories of Guru Rinpoche terma that has been hidden all over the place and during the culture revolution some people from nepal who knew about these terma went back to Tibet and illegally stole some. About the tertons Guru Choewang was the first terton I have heard about because his popular story took place right in my mother in laws ancestral home surto where he disguised as servant and served them for many many years because his mother was born as scorpion 🦂 and stuck in the oven of their home in Surtso (DepaNyingpa in Nyanang). On his last day in surtsok after departing their home, he recited a mantra and cleaned the oven to free his mom and all the clay that was part of oven broke into pieces and flew up in the air as lord buddha statue. Even now many of my in laws family still have one for each. My mother told me Guru Choewang had to free his mom many times because she kept manifesting as an 😈 ignorant. :-)
