Pemmican Taste Test - Bear Valley, Epic Bar, Tanka Bar.

I apologize for the audio in this video. I didn't expect the camera closer to me to pick up the audio so much weaker than the one in front. Hopefully it is still watchable.
Taste test of 3 different brands of pemmican with Datrex emergency water pouch. Also using my Sheffield folding knife.

Reviews appreciated. Recall trying Pemmican long ago (not good so not surprised on that one). Ever trying to figure out emergency supplies that need no refrig. Epic sounds worth a try.

Yes, Tankabar & Epic are both good. But if you look closer, the Epic bar weighs in at 1-1/2 times the mass of the Tankabar. But they have identical nutritional value! This means the Epic bar is 1/3 inert matter -- filler.

It was probably not usually cranberries because cranberries are rather difficult to get your hands on in the the plains

Bought so much of Pemmican by Bear Valley out in SF CA. Whole Foods carried it thru the 90s then stopped. Where can I get it in Dallas? Anyone? It's vegan Pemmican. 4 flavors including fruit/nut, carob, sesame/lemon, and coconut/almond.

Why did you not read the ingredients of the Bear Valley bar? At least then we would know if there was a binder in the nut paste and fruit.

Epic uses the scraps of the buffalo. Tatanka bars use the best part of the buffalo. i wouldn't trust Epic's nutritional info.

Both use the fat of the bison, there is no difference. The problem with the epic bison bar, is someone on a carnivore diet cannot have the sugar.

Did you seriously taste test a bag of water? Thats the most ridiculous product ive ever seen. thats like 1 gulp of water. just stick a gallon in your garage and one in your car...
