Chapeau and thank you for this detailed video with all the important and clearly explained details. I watched the video several times to understand every detail. These Vacumatic filling systems are probably not products with a simple technology, but quite complicated, with all their many small but indispensable parts. The fact that spare parts are still available today shows me that there must still be quite a few vintage FP's waiting to be restored. The 30 seconds of nib processing was also worth it, as the writing example impressively showed. I'm looking forward to your next videos

Thank you so much! Yes, Parker made millions of these exquisite pens between 1933 and 1948.

I would love to get my hands on one of these babies one day! Such a heartwarming feeling one gets when one of them writes beautifully again! Kudos to the nibmeister! And kudos to Doug for finding the thingymabobby from Pentooling and successfully installing it!

Doug, this was great! It's really impressive to see how far you've come in restoring these old pens - this one was certainly a reach but you just made it look easy! Love your content!

Learning so much from watching your experiences in pen repair. Motivated! And hell yes to the Sheaffer nib. They work wonderfully in their models as well as the Rangas designed for them. Well done!

Thanks for sharing! I can confirm that Dale over at Pentooling is awesome. I've ordered from him a few times and he's always super responsive and has every possible tool or part you'd ever need to fix any vintage pen out there. I'm not sponsored by Pentooling, I promise! Just a big fan.

Desde España, muchas gracias por tu generosidad al mostrar de forma tan desinteresada tus conocimientos, Gracias a tus vídeos he resucitado una "Vacu" que pienso es del 1936 From Spain, thank you very much for your generosity in showing your knowledge so selflessly. Thanks to your videos I have resurrected a "Vacu" that I think is from 1936

Awesome pen, Doug! Love pen tooling ... they even carry an updated version of a refill for Parker liquid lead pencils. I never thought I would be able to use my Parler liquid lead pencil but" Pen Tooling" has it.... amazing!

@@InkquiringMinds Maybe after I get the last bottle of ink from the 1940s Parker Quink line. Who'd have figured that Parker Quink washable blue was the hardest to find? (And in Sheaffer's Skrip, Persian Rose is actually hardest to find. Probably because of limited sales when new.)

Once again, a very cool pen restoration video. Definitely feeling jealous. I actually have both the sheaffer imperial and the targa as well! They were both from a very old stationary shop, tucked away in a dusty corner. Very unexpected but happy find. My targa is the green moire and it's definitely my fav pen in the collection atm

Nicely done repair by you and nib resurrection by Jack. Such a treasure trove of beautiful pens. I do want to see what you do with that $5 super special you snagged on your vacation. Yes the inlaid nib on Sheaffer pens is fabulous but you seem to also enjoy the Waterman Carene nib, too.
@InkquiringMinds Жыл бұрын
Many thanks! Yes, the Imperial nib, the Carene and the Pilot e95s are the most beautiful.

Thanks Doug for another great restoration vid. I was hoping the new parts were the vac or piston units from a WingSung 601A... but I guess not. Oh well... 😂

That lubricating silicone is that the same stuff you use on piston fillers? I have a lot of it because I use a treadmill almost every day. I was always thinking I need to buy some for pens, but if I already have that I won't then.
@InkquiringMinds Жыл бұрын
I use the treadmill "oil" on things to lubricate only. If you want to make sure there are no leaks, I use the more viscous silicone grease.

If that little piece holds the sac pellet then I would call it the pellet holder.
@InkquiringMinds Жыл бұрын
I brain farted on the name. It is a pellet pusher.

By the way, while the Sheaffer nib is gorgeous, it's outclassed by two Pilots: The Myu 701/M90, and the 500 Super Ultra. 😉
