Could you please tell me why you use Camellia oil instead of mineral, linseed etc.? Thanks
@SilverMeister5 жыл бұрын
In the last finish, Non-drying camellia oil is more effective. Thank you for your attention.

Silver Meister Thanks. I forgot to ask, is the brass tube you insert the ferrule into, the same 7mm "slime line" used in pen kits? Most people just drill a 1/4 in hole and insert the ferrule, but I like the way the brass tube helps support the differing woods/pieces. And if you don't mind as well, where did you find those spacers? Looked for quite a while and couldn't find either (answer). I hope you don't mind the questions; always looking how to improve. You make the most beautiful turnings I have ever come across. Thanks again!Cheers

@@PathinAZ You're welcome ~ I was too busy to pay attention to KZbin recently. I'm trying to give you a possible answer, Sorry for the late answer. ^^ I am not familiar with English, so it is not easy to translate and communicate. Please understand this. However,,, It's fun to talk to you about how to work better. What does "spacer" mean? Let me know in detail and I would like to help you find the "spacer". My profession is a metal craftsman and has worked for about 30 years. I'm always working to make a better work. Thank you for your interest and thank you for communicating with me ^^
@PathinAZ5 жыл бұрын
Silver Meister I completely understand and thank you again for taking the time.The only 2 things I would like to know, is 1., what size the brass tube is (I have standard nib ferrules (holder) and just need to find the right brass tube to fit it in.)and 2. did you get the silver/gold pieces locally in your area or online?"spacers" are just pieces (of anything) that go in between other items to give more length or just for looks. In your case, the silver and gold pieces were "spacers" between the wood.Again, thanks for the help!Have a great day!
@PathinAZ5 жыл бұрын
Silver Meister LOL, I just noticed that you show in your video that the brass tubing IS the Streamline brass tubes. Sorry for not paying attention.

@Silver Meister Hi again, I have one more question if you would be so kind. Is the "wood coating hardener" you use comparable to something like (in the US) Minwax Wood Hardener? I'm not too fond of the standard CA (Super Glue) pen finish many people use, so if you could help I sure would appreciate it.Thanks again and have a great day.
@SilverMeister5 жыл бұрын
Hi Nice to see you again. The finish is called "Mylands". But, My favorite finish is I like not to have a special finish so that I can enjoy the feel of wood. After sanding to about # 800, Finish by wiping it several times with non-drying oil.
@PathinAZ5 жыл бұрын
Ah, yes I've heard of Mylands. I agree, the feel of the wood is just as important as the beauty of the piece. Thanks again!
