Pen Y Fan - Cystic Fibrosis Hike

Hiking with friends and my boyfriend - you dont want to miss this - calling out the trolls, my own mental health and food for thought.....
It’s important to note that cross infection within the cystic fibrosis community is real. That’s why me and Sophie made sure we stayed a safe distance away and were outside the whole time as well as knowing neither of us are carrying the bugs B. Sepacia or Mycobacteria.
There were a few people online that decided to attack us (without tagging us) for ‘promoting mixing with other CF people’. It’s a sad world we live in right now that I have to ask everyone to think before commenting. Whilst we’re both strong and resilient individuals, we’re still human beings. We’re both grown ups and have always stayed safe. We do our very best for the CF community and are passionate about helping everyone.
We took the route from Merthyr side across to Jacobs Ladder to get to the top of Pen y Fan and then looped back round resulting in roughly 20kms. This is such a good route and one that really tests you. If you come to Wales, I’d highly recommend it!

This is everything and more. Life is too short to be cooped inside while we still have fire in our bellies. It’s so amazing to see friends who are like family be able to share a laugh and see emotion instead of laughing behind a WhatsApp message. I am so proud of you and thank you for showing Pen Y Fan!!! I’m starving after seeing the food! Josh if you ever read this you’re incredible too. Let’s go champ. I can’t wait to see what’s to come in the future 💛💫
