What I want to say is that there are some common unrealistic details seemingly easy to solve from about 5 years and theyre still there.

Fifa 97: first Fifa I played in Canada, I remember it had indoor in it ! Fifa 98: first with all the teams in the world was amazing to play ! Fifa 99 and 2000: I got a bit disappointed from those and stopped playing. 2004, 2005, 2006: switched to PES during my University years... Fifa 2007: back to Fifa from PES, remember looooong nights playing that one, that is the FIFA that saved it and put PES back to second place... Fifa 08: addicted. Fifa 09: addicted Fifa 10: addicted Fifa 11: addicted Fifa 12: addicted Fifa 13: addicted Fifa 14: bit disappointed.. but still addicted... Fifa 15, 16: still great at it, but I calmed down a lot now

98 was great. Hacking, diving and indoor football. Guess they had to get rid of those features, wouldn't want kids to think that kind of stuff happens for real! Oh well, we'll always have 98. WOO HOO. I also played the shit out of 02. There was a little sequence you could do to always score from your own half. Get the ball in the centre circle, but slightly off-centre along the halfway line. Start sprinting towards your own goal and hit O when you're about to run out of the circle. Your player would hook it like a clearance and it would go in every time. Sometimes. Can't remember.

Fifa game has changed a lot since I first play the game back, the fifa 98. Although from 08 till 16 there is not much change on pitch, but in overall especially the off pitch matters like transfers, management expectations, players mood had all changed and improved a lot. Hopefully, EA can make it more real like in reality like replacing a manager half way thru the season. Thanks EA for the wonderful game all these years. Awesome game.

If you play the game and check the player information the correct foot preferences are there but back then you could switch leg you want to use when taking the penalties.

If you trace the chronology of FIFA games, you can see that major change in game engine happened in FIFA 97. I think developers still use that platform with some modifications and, of course, much better graphics in current versions of FIFA.

That was truly majestic :D I still have fifa 98 and 97 , I was playing 97 with a friend on ps1 and we were laughing so much you can just score from anywhere :D 2002 was funny too, you could tackle goalkeper and get red card :D For me the best fifa is 07 I played it so much.

i just remember coming straight home from school to play fiifa 98 and 2001 =D the first fifa games were always funny as fuck to play since you could pretty much just run straight past all defenders without even dribbling. also, you were able to score from pretty much anywhere consistently

wow it's crazy looking back now and thinking "how good" we thought the graphics were for some of those early editions! I can only imagine how good the graphics will be in ten years time (as if they're not fantastic now) when PC's have advanced more, and when we will be playing on PS6.

+hAzArDzOnE Who knows mate, in the coming years it'll be interesting to see what PS5 graphics will look like once Sony releases pre-release PS5 pics. Personally I'm not a fan of having to wear some sort of virtual reality headset, I prefer simply sitting and playing the way we've done so for the last 20 years. Headsets/microphones are cool, but not a VR headset "screen" I'm not even a Wii fan. It will be cool though to see what Fifa 25 will look like. I'd say we will reach the stage where playing a football game will look exactly like watching on tv, like 98% identical. I tell you what though, having a second look at this vid Fifa 04 pens looked better than Fifa 06 pens. Especially in the early days of Fifa some successors were shit compared to the previous year. I loved Fifa 96, hated Fifa 97, and absolutely loved Fifa 98(Road to World Cup 98) that game was fantastic, and even World Cup 98 had slightly better gameplay/graphics than RTWC. I really hope EA bring back the RTWC feature. It would be nice to play as any of the International sides and try take them to the World Cup.

I remember FIFA 2000 has at least 50 celebration moves; FIFA 2002 has at least 200 national teams; and in FIFA 2004 if you kick from 30+ metres 9 out of 10 will be goals.

The Fifa game which Ronaldinho is on the cover, I think it is Fifa 2010, in that game Ronaldo Fenomeno is super good. He has so much control, technique and composure that he can dominate the game.
