I know 20 to life is not what folks expected. But I want to assure you all-he will serve 40+ years because you have to show remorse and an ability to be rehabilitated. I don’t see him doing that. In addition, at each parole hearing after 20 years, the victims and prosecutors get to advocate for why he should remain incarcerated. The fact this was premeditated and vicious-I’d be shocked if he ever gets out based on those reasons.

Whether he admitted to anything after he was convicted is not a factor as to why he should or should not receive eligibility for parole. He had a constitutional right to a trial. If he is ever to actually receive parole the parole board may well be looking as to whether he has admitted to his actions and expressed remorse.

I'm not the same person I was 20 years ago and I wish I could go back and do things differently and I didn't even spend time in jail or commit a horrible crime. He has loads of time to sit and think about this and in 20 years I hope he has learned the horrible wrong that he committed, admits to it, shows remorse and understanding that HE is the lucky one who is still alive and gets to see his family while his victim's life has been ended by his hand. Maybe then, with this realization, he will use some of those positive traits that the people who love him have told us about, to make the world a better place. It won't bring his victim back, but neither will keeping him in jail if he has truly learned his lesson. The jury got it right.
