This brings back memories. I was there on that Friday. I remember watching Overkill wreck and thinking it was the coolest thing I had ever seen.

I feel like these 14 year old trucks have better power and suspension than the current crop. Those trucks are crazy quick.
@ryanlsorrell19836 жыл бұрын
No they don't. The old trucks back in the day where heavier and broke their axels and suspension quite often. The trucks today have the same horsepower but are lighter with a lot better suspension.
@drtyler12346 жыл бұрын
Are they actually that much lighter these days to the ones in this video? The trucks here are the stage 3 tube chassis trucks, which is the same basic design that every truck has been modeled off since. I'm not an expert on the mechanical side of the trucks or anything, but I'd imagine during this period the trucks were breaking more often than now because the equipment they used was less durable and less advanced than today's, not because of the weight. The trucks these days are mainly built for freestyle, so I imagine all suspension, axle and other parts have developed technologically for them to handle the abuse of the modern shows.

Well the last time I watched monster jam 3/4 of the trucks broke within the first 30 seconds of freestyle. I feel like the Bigfoot trucks seem more durable as a whole. I’m sure that’s budget dependent.
@jeffjackson63296 жыл бұрын
I’m sure you have seen Bigfoot jump the airplane, that’s an axle breaking landing if I’ve ever seen one. He drives away no problem.

@@ryanlsorrell1983 the stage III’s were actually a few thousand pounds lighter than the modern trucks. Modern trucks weigh more probably because of the thicker wall tubing they need to withstand freestyle

Back when it was racing and not pointless freestyle....

The racing meant far more in a series like this back then. I miss that too. I liked freestyle a bit years ago but it's less actual competition now and more just a show.... monster jam now seems kinda pointless.... it's a show... like WWE, just a display
@Nun3zDanny32 жыл бұрын
@@Turb0sGaminf the old school racing could’ve evolved into Motorsport level racing. That’s where it was going. Freestyle will never be a serious sport.
