I can't believe he went 'meh' on Showdown and The Tempest: they're my favourite songs on the album.

I freaking love this album, although I can understand why some people aren't a fan. Every track brings something interesting, and it hits really hard.

I actually prefer this album to immersion. Its sooo much better. It maybe shorter but these songs are incredible

I used to skip over this album a lot and just listen to my favorites from Hold Your Colour and Immersion, but when I actually started sitting down with this album I discovered some of my favorite Pendulum songs. The Tempest is like in my top 3 of Pendulum song and is easily the song I regret not paying attention to when I first heard this album. Honestly, this album is my most listen to Pendulum album in recent times, and has most certainly grown me the most (I may enjoy listening to it more than HYC but I'm also a huge metal fan), but I don't think it will top Immersion for me.

i never minded this album. however edm/rock crossovers are a soft spot for me. i was a big prodigy fan when i was young and to see someone less go there was fun.

I'm surprised you consider In Silico the worst Pendulum album, maybe 'cause I usually think of it as my favourite of their 3 albums. But I get it, because it's true it may not be the most engaging or fun to listen to. Immersion, for example, has many songs that are easy to enjoy while being awesome. You have Witchcraft, Crush, Under the Waves, Watercolour or the Fountain, songs that make you really get into the album. Same goes for HYC, having Hold Your Colour or Streamline. And yeah, I'd say In Silico only has Propane Nightmares to really catch you, so it might not be as appealing as the others. But to me this album is such a grower. When you take the time to listen to it, you find gems like 9000 Miles or The Tempest (my all-time favourite song), and I find Visions and Different to be quite chill or laid-back, sorta like Girl in the Fire or Out Here in Hold Your Colour. So yeah, it's the kind of album that needs time to be fully appreciated. Nice review man, I also watched your Hold Your Colour and Immersion reviews, and I must say I freaking love each of the 3 albums. Greetings from a Pendulum lover :)

It's kind of sad to see the legendary pendulum devolve into albums like abandon ship, and the single battle sirens. But you'll get to that when you get to it.

The Big Finicheti well that's not going to be a problem anymore because Rob said that he's making a new pendulum album

I love absolutely every track in In Silico. Personally my favorite album, veery close second being Immersion and then Hold Your Colour. It's also the only album in which I love every single song in it, not just from Pendulum but in music as a whole. That's my taste though, but I gotta admit, the songs in the album didn't really resonate with me at first as well, but with time I started loving them more and more until the album turned into my favorite one. Specifically midnight runner and mutiny imo are the most underrated tracks of Pendulum.

8.0/10 Best Tracks: “Showdown”, “Propane Nightmares”, “Visions”, “Midnight Runner”, “Mutiny”, “9000 Miles”, “The Other Side” Worst Track: “The Tempest”

GuardianSkiller I definitely understand the appeal of this song, and even if it is the weakest on this album (personal enjoyment wise), I still really like it a lot and would still listen to it more than the worst songs on Hold Your Colour and Immersion. I actually like all the songs on this album around the same amount, so it was actually quite hard to pick this as the worst. The only reason I picked it was because it never stands out for me, and is a bit long for me.

It’s interesting that you didn’t like The Tempest but enjoyed both Showdown and The Other Side. I’ve seen The Tempest as a mixture of the tonality and tempo from The Other Side and the opening vocal part and emphasis on guitar from Showdown Edit: Just read your other comment and I see your reasoning now, feel free to disregard this

The Tempest worst song, you gotta be kidding me

No doubt, Showdown I thought was a move into some different territory for Pendulum, and thought they just nailed it! I'm not sure there's anyone more consistent than Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen when it comes to song writing, especially electronic based music.

Sad, i like this album, cuz i like the atmosphere of 2008 and 2009, sunny atmosphere, me being kid, Need For Speed : Undercover vibes (shit game with nice soundtrack), the one track for me which is "meh" - Different, cuz it sounds not much like a Pendulum. Especially i like 9000 miles, Visions and Tempest
@snikrepak3 жыл бұрын
This is and down one of their best albums, hold your colour is also a fantastic album, I have been waiting or a new album that reproduces their old sound, the new album is sort of meh, they lost their sound.

No way this is the weakest album: there isn't a single song that i want to skip, is the more consistent album of the Pendulum (Immersion and Hold your colours have got bangers but also meh songs, making them less solid than In Silico), Different, The Other Side, 9000 Miles are very good and The Tempest is the masterpiece imho
