One recommendation: for those who speak Italian and Spanish know what I mean, but I strongly recommend a change of artistic name to something more of international acceptance. BTW, I love his voice. He has a voice that you only hear once per generation.

He’s also on KZbin as Darren Pati or Darren Pene Pati. They’re from a few years ago. I wondered then if he’d been recommended to amend his given name for obvious reasons. I now think that he’s chosen to resume his real name as his career has taken off and he wants to be authentic. Europeans and Americans are now being exposed to different cultures and Pene and his brother Amitai are introducing their culture to us. You should hear them and their baritone cousin Moses Mackay sing “We Are Samoa” as the trio Sol3 Mio. It’s on KZbin and is a beautiful song, sung both in English and Samoan. Their DVD is a fantastic mix of both opera and contemporary songs.
